Live Show suggestion

I remember TRS mentioning that they wanted to do a live show at some point in 08.

I suggest that if they do this what should be done is a live performance of the opening theme. That way it can finally be put to rest that no it is not Alex singing, that it's his girlfriend.

I think it would be cool to have Alex jamming the guitar part, Jeff narrate it and Alex's girlfriend belt it out. Dan can play cowbell or something.

That's a rad suggestion. But it makes me wonder... since the show uses a lot of segments and green screens... can everything be done live??

Like the intro clip, done out play style in front of the crowd (I know Jeff would like that one.)

Also, since in every segment they move around... are they going to get up and move around?

They should play a rockband song, with a lucky member of the crowd to play the 4th part.

Or Steve could do it.

The live show should totally be in New York. Big apple is totally Rad.

Also, I love the live intro idea...they would have to choose a movie scene that happens on stage somewhere....maybe the opening to Life Aquatic?

For the background I think they should travel to the place of the show (New York) like a day early and meet up with fans and paint a big backdrop together (which could end up being the 'on the town' segment)...and it would be an awesome substitute for the background.

(although, they could technically still film it in front of the green screen...it would just be less fun for the live crowd)

I think they should maybe somehow show a regular taped intro on a big screen, then make some appropriate entrance in costumes from the filmed intro. And how rad would a live "Dan becomes a man" segment be??

Ideas for live DBaM segment:

- Dan chops wood with axe/chainsaw
- Dan builds a fire
- Dan lays floor/demolishes a wall etc.
- Dan buys sex from a real prostitute (ok I went too far)

Kevin and Alex announced on this weeks episode of Diggnation that they're going to do a live show in St. Louis Feb. 20th (I figure that's as close as I can hope for them to get to Chicago, so I'm going). But I figured since TRS was thinking about doing a live show anyway, why not do it there? Have TRS in the afternoon, everybody breaks for dinner, then we have Diggnation at night so we can all get sloppy drunk (Except for Dan. He can have chocolate milk or something).
I figure the guys want to do a live show in the L.A. area and Dan, Jeff and Steve don't seem to have the sweet, travel hook-ups that Alex has, but if I get to see TRS and Diggnation in the same day, I'd gladly throw in a few bucks to get the other 3/4 of TRS to St. Louis.

Well, they could do a background, it would just have to be printed up or projected onto a screen. The projection would probably look pretty crappy against the bright stage lights, but the printing might be pretty expensive, and they'd have to pick a user background far in advance to have the printing done.

I really wish they'd do a live show in SF, so I could at least try to attend.

If they're in St. Louis too, I just may have to go. I'd prefer Chicago, its closer, but yeah... Diggnation AND TRS? Yes please!!!

Should be EPIC awesome. I just hope I have the time, money, and the good weather to make it down...
