Sure, St Louis is known for Anheuser-Busch products, but did you also know that St Louis has a long history of micro-brewers. Dating back to pre-prohibition times, the caves of Missouri made a great place to keep the beer at the perfect brewing temperature.
So, I recommend hosting the Diggnation event at a microbrew. Morgan Street Brewery is a really great location. It is on Laclede's Landing blocks from the Arch and the mighty Mississippi. They are also a block from the Metrolink station, have WiFi, and they have lots of big rooms to choose from.
Oh, yeah, and their beers are fantastic. We at Habanero (read web development firm) go there frequently after work and sometimes during work.
Also, I recommend Schlafley Bottleworks. This is a newer establishment by St Louis's largest Microbrewer. They have great beers and it is a non-smoking environment. (Morgan Street allows smoking).
I'll find out about any age restrictions and see if Bottleworks has WiFi. I'm very excited to know you are coming to St Louis. I've lived here for 7 years and I have been to a lot of St Louis restaurants. If you want any help organizing or any other St Louis advice, feel free to shoot me an email. My account on yahoo is kcroke.

Schlafly Bottleworks would make for a nice venue, but I would consider the Schlafly Tap Room. The Tap Room is the original Schlafly brewpub and claims to be the first brewpub in Missouri. The Tap Room is located within an old renovated building (excellent bar atmosphere) in downtown Saint Louis, within stumbling distance of several hotels and relatively close to the Union Station Metrolink stop. Another issue with the Bottleworks location is that a church group (The Journey - Beer and Theology) meets there the third Wednesday of every month (Feb 20th), so space might be a concern. It might be fun to crash their party though.

The Tap Room is definitely a cool venue. I was definitely toying with the idea of suggesting that, the only reason I chose Bottleworks was because of the non-smoking.
I just called tap room, bottleworks, and morgan st. Neither tap room nor bottleworks have wi-fi, but there are no age restrictions. Morgan St has wi-fi and at 10pm, when they stop serving food, it becomes 21+.
If we want to rent a space, the duck room sounds like a good idea. It is $950 and they may be available that night. (I didn't call, but there are no shows.) They do have 18 different beers on tap (including schlafley!)). If Go-Daddy is picking up the rental fee, that's definately a great idea.
Depending on number of listners, I could see Blueberry hill waiving entrance fee. They also have WiFi.

Hmm...
Is Trails Head still out in St. Charles? It's been 10 years since I've been back to St. Louis (came down here with the Army AMCOM move in '97) for an extended period; a few trips here and there... I remember the food was stellar, but the beer was probably forgettable if I can't remember it either way... A a few of the bars just started serving New Belgian Brewing stuff (Fat Tire, etc), so we jumped on that last time we were up there, since they have shitty beer in AL period...
I wanted to come up for a Blues game, but maybe I'll schedule it around the Digg stuff.

I was there tonight for a while and anyone can get in before 9pm. After 9 it is 21+. It looked like a perfect spot to me.

As a 20-year old an hour and a half away from St. Louis, all I know is that I hope they pick a bar that lets under-21 folks in. Missouri may technically allow 18+ people in bars, but I know for a fact that in Columbia, Missouri they are extremely strict about requiring bars and clubs to card and only allow in those 21 and over. Obviously, if they pick a place that's a bar/grill this shouldn't be an issue. I'm gonna be unbelievably bummed out if I miss a live Diggnation by 7 months just because they won't let me into the building (obviously not drinking would be a let down as well, but I'd rather see the show sober than not see it at all).

Hey guys -
Any of the places you've mentioned would be great, but a place that would be very sweet is the Lucas School House, which I've been to an event like this before at. They have a pretty nice sized theater upstairs, and a lounge downstairs, which would be perfect for the pre-party and after-party.

Just wanted to offer my 2 cents.

Please be somewhere where 21 and under can go. Frustrating I turn 21 in june and diggnation decides to come to the midwest before I'm 21 haha.

Never actual been to Schlafly, but I did get a sample pack of Schlafly beers for Christmas and loved it, especially the Oatmeal Stout.

Never been to Morgan Street, but Schlafly would be great. Man, I can't believe they're coming, I can't wait! I'll have to skip out on school that night, hopefully there's not a test!

To everyone worrying about being under 21: MOST(not all) bars in Saint Louis let minors in before a certain time, like 9 or 10pm. So don't worry, everything will be OK.

Sure they do -- they serve it in that log cabin outside after a certain time.

I live/work downtown and offer some suggestions:
Good landing options:
(http://www.morganstreetbrewery.com/LagerRoom/index.htm ~ Probably the largest bar venue I can think of
http://www.lumiereplace.com/ The new fancy Casino / hotel
Washington Ave:
http://www.dublinerstl.com/ Irish Pub pretty decent size
http://flamingobowl.net/ Flamingo Bowl (Retro fancy Bar / Bowling alley upscale, plenty on tap / have pitchers etc, just opened last month)
CITY MUSEUM - would be awesome, and yes they do allow beer to be sold there (only downside is no full bar, but plenty of other bars on washington ave for that) I live like 2 blocks from the above places so I'm biased :)

Not really. It's a block north of Washington, a couple blocks west of Tucker (gmaps (http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&q=city+museum&near=Saint+Louis,+MO&fb=1&cid=0,0,17649330440288692707&ll=38.632997,-90.199213&spn=0.003612,0.008293&t=h&z=17&om=0))

How about McGurks. I've been focused on microbrews, but McGurks just came to mind. They have a small stage and know how to pour a Guinness. Also their food is very good. The homemade pub chips rock because they are made to order.

CityMuseum would be an interesting/great venue, but is it going to accomodate the kind of crowd one would expect of a diggnation event?
they'll also:
-charge 10$ to get in:mad:
-not have booze near a filming area
It would probably look a lot cooler to have the even at CityMuseum..
but I dont personally see much that would be viable aside of The Pageant.
I like Blueberry Hill, but it would make a better pre-show/post-show venue.
The Duck Room is only good i you expect <50people.
