I recently got a Cowon A3 and I started using it to watch Rev3 shows. Getting the HD version is problematic ATM so I'm using the large Xvid feeds. I noticed that I couldn't play some videos well. After some checking, I noticed that some files have a framerate of 30 (29.97), which plays fine, but others have a framerate of 60 (59.941), which don't.
What's the deal? Tekzilla is 30 while the daily shows are 60. I probably wouldn't mind re-encoding the HD streams if I have to but why the difference in framerates? Especially with Tekzilla and the daily episodes. Why do they have different framerates?
Again, if they were all 60, I would re-encode even if 30 is more convenient for me (not my personal company) but some consistency would be nice.
Also, why 60 fps? ATSC?
