Hey guys
I've looked everywhere for an answer to this but no luck.
I'm subscribed to a few feeds from Revision 3, but the issue I have is that I much prefer watching the video from within the feed itself (like I can with WebAlert and others), than having to either download or click through to a website.
Is this even possible with the Revision 3 feeds ? Fyi I use FeedDemon, which may not be relevant but I thought I'd mention for anyone who doesn't know that it's now free.
Thanks guys.

Hiya Sphere. You bring up a good point, and it is definitely possible. Just to give you a quick answer/reason as to why we don't have it setup this way yet...
When you see feeds that have the flash video embedded directly so you can watch right from your browser/feed reader, that's actually just the people who provide the RSS feed dropping the object/embed tags directly into the description of each post.
Here are Rev3, we provide quite a few different media formats, and therefore provide quite a few different feeds. We also utilize the regular enclosure tags as well as the yahoo mrss standard to provide the media to you in a format that aggregators (like miro) can do their thing with. So, the gist of it is, when you subscribe to a feed, say "Large Quicktime" you're subscribing to a feed that provides that media format in a way that can be utilized by any media friendly rss application. It would of course not make sense to push the embedded flash player onto users who simply wanted to subscribe to pull their media via their favorite applications (and would actually affect their experience in a negative way).
I'll look into maybe setting up a "Flash Video" feed, which would basically have all the same rss metadata, but without the media/enclosure stuff, and could have the embedded player directly in each description.
I have a feeling a good number of people would find this useful, especially with our new dailies!

And as a followup point, the new flash player on the site is fantatic progress - the improved quality makes it all the more suitable for this type of feed. You of course know this already, but I thought I'd throw it in there anyway...
