I contacted EA support about my strum bar not working on my guitar controller. Their warranty system was very easy. I guess the first batch of guitars that went out had a problem with strum bars so they have that issue fixed with later batches. I should get my new guitar in a couple of days no charge at all.

There are 2 options. There's one where you give them a credit card number and they send you the new guitar first and then you put your old one in the box and send it off in the enclosed prepaid box. The second option is they send you a return box, you return your guitar then they send the new one.(if you can wait and don't want to give them a credit card number)

I posted this, just in case anyone else was having problems.

Its good to see companies take the proper actions when they screw up :)

I went ahead and said mine got messed up and they sent me another one, and I didn't return my first one. So now I have 2 guitars like I should've had in the first place.

If you did the fast option (where they send you the guitar first), and if you gave them a credit card number I'd check your statement. They give you about 28 days to return the defective unit or they'll charge your credit card or debit card about $140 (might have been less can't remember the exact number). I used the EA support site and did my request via the internet. So there's no getting around it. If you did it by phone and got away with not returning it, good for you.

I don't know what I did, but they ended up just sending me the guitar without me sending mine back first. Actually they sent a 360 one first, I told them it wasn't right then they sent me the PS3 one. It says to send the defective one back, but... meh. Also traded in the 360 controller for a bit of credit. I know, I'm evil. Ask BMG and Columbia House they'll tell you the same thing. :D

i did the credit card option, and kept both guitars for 3 weeks before sending the defective one back. it was nice having 2 guitars for that time frame. everything went nice and smooth, plus i got a free game!
