Is there a Spellchecker that can be incorporated into forum software? I post on a hot pepper forum and it is getting asked about. They use vBulletin Version 3.6.2. I would imagine that there is, but have never seen it on any forums that I go on.

Im sure there is, I know there is one for IPB at least. I really wouldn't use it, the spell check in Firefox is great! :D

Yeah, I'm sure there is one. Honestly though, I'd just suggest downloading Firefox 2 if you're a fan of Firefox. It has a new built-in spell checker similar to the one in Word.

How does the checker in ff work? Do you have to paste the text into it somehow? I don't have it yet, although all of my customers are getting it. Along with IE 7, it is nice to have test subjects. lol.

It's pretty cool from my experience... words are underlined the same way they are in M$ Word, and a right click will bring up recommendations and an "add to dictionary" option.

But it's left me wondering... is dammit really spelled like that, or is it damnit like i've always thought?

edit - oh, and you can also turn spell checker off in typing fields by right clicking and selecting / de-selecting the "spell check this field" option

The one in Firefox is automatic, if you make mistake, it will underline it with a red line, right click on it and it gives you options.

Ok, I am going to try FF, but it still leaves me wondering about it for the pepper forum. Some of those guys may not want to mess with things like that. I know it is not a big deal, but they were curious.

What FF2 needs is a stupidity-checker...

You are a Mathmatical Genious, you don't need to know how to spell. I would understand. Thousands wouldn't though I am sure.

In the forum there is a "Spellcheck" button in between "reply" and "preview post" I press the button and it comes up as a seperate window.
