So I'm watching the pilot episode of The Shield and so far, I like it. I see how it's been a source of influence for a lot of cop shows.

Besides this, TRS got me into comics (starting with The Watchment, Blankets, etc).

What has TRS exposed you to besides hilarity?

I need to star watching the shield. im just to broke to buy it now and i cant rent it because when i put my mind to watching a tv series i watch everything together. I dont wanna have to wait 4 days for netflix to send me the next disc.

I would say the very best thing that TRS has exposed me to so far was the movie Stardust. I had no intentions of seeing this movie and actually thought it looked kinda stupid. When i saw their review i figured i might as well check it out.

Defiantly one of my favorite movies of the year and maybe all time.

For the second time in my life i totally fell in love with Claire Danes. The first time being when i saw Romeo and Juliet back in High School.

Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I love it, but I think it went downhill when Devito showed up. Too unbelievable.

What has TRS exposed you to besides hilarity?Alex gave me a nasty rash once. A couple of shots of penicillin, and everything was back to normal.

TRS has exposed me to a few things, I watch or try to watch almost every movie mentioned. I also started watching Avatar after they named it the best Tv show of 2007.

I have to thank TRS for pushing the Netflix route and getting me back into movies... Honestly, thats the best $13 I can spend a month...

Aaaaand, TRS really pushed me back into comics. I used to read a lot of them when I was a kid, but after some of my parental units decided that it wasn't a good idea, that one went to pot. But, I've picked up a few more recently, and I plan on getting up on a few more soon.

TRS keeps me in the loop, I like that.

Avatar: The last airbender. I must say that I would have NEVER EVER EVER even given it a chance. I hadn't watched Nick since I was a little kid. They also introduced me to comics. The Surrogates was the first comic I ever read through. After that, Invincible. I have bought all the trades and love it. TV wise, Jekyll. Some of the best TV I've watched in a long time. Off the top of my head, I dont remember any others, but I know they're out there.

I try to check out as many movies as they suggest, a lot I enjoy and some just don't click for me. Most of the movies they review I either try to see in theaters or I've been getting them on Netflix.

TV wise: Avatar was probably the biggest one for me. I also got into Jekyll. The only show I haven't liked that they suggested was Pushing Daisies. I kind of enjoy it, but not enough to last more then a season.

Game wise: I had a big addiction to Puzzle Quest when it hit XBL. I bought Mass Effect, but haven't gotten around to it. I have too many games to get through, and don't feel like keeping my Gamefly account if I can't get around to finishing a game.

Reading.

Yeah, TRS got me into reading. Jeff very briefly mentioned "Soon I Will Be Invincible," and it sounded like something that was right up my alley, so I picked up the first book I've read in about 7 years. Yeah, I'm not a reader. That was a few months ago, and since then I've read the three Dexter books and I'm starting Cobert's hilarious book.

I find it hilarious that Jeff never even mentioned the book again or even what he thought of it in the first place, and that's the biggest impact the guys have had on me :)

The others are minor ones like Jekyll, Powers, and maybe a couple other comics. I appear to have a very different taste in TV shows from the guys, aside from an intense fondness for Pushing Daisies and an undying love for Avatar.

AVATAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would not have touched it had it not been for TRS, I would have just thought it was a random kids show trying to be pokemon. However, this is the MOST EPIC show ever. I love it really really really really good. It is better then most movies you will see.

It is Lord of the Rings, The Matrix, Star Wars and All the best martial arts movies. There really is no better show and it is made for kids.

AVATAR is awesome I cant wait for the live action movies where they can really flesh out some of the characters relationships. This is easily one of the best shows I have ever seen.

I was already a fan of the shield before the show and from what I hear all props go to Steve for that.

I would have never found Avatar if not for TRS. Epic. I'd never really read comics before, but now I've read Preacher and Watchmen.

This is a great thread. I wish I could pin down anything they have pointed out to me.

I am usually on top of games. Movies I am OK with thing that have come out since DVD was adopted, largely in '97. I was an early adopter and have several hundreds of discs. Some double dipped even. (JFK, Casino, Goodfellas)

The best thing about TRS is they are the same age as I am and have such similar tastes between the three of them. I have been led to stuff that I had either missed or had forgotten.

I guess the biggest thing I get is to have them find those things that I will like, for me. Kinda makes reviews obsolete. Who needs them when you have like minds pointing you to cool, sorry, RAD stuff anyway.

There are things like Avatar that I have not tried to get into. But I trust it will be worthy of the DVD packs.

Probably the biggest item was Watchmen. I had always seen the smiley face around and seen pictures of Rorschach and always wondered what the heck they were from. Once they talked about it and I knew what it was, I asked my comic shop about it and he also suggested it and I went ahead and bought it. I didn't like it at first, but once it hit the Doctor Manhattan chapter I was hooked and ended up loving it. Since then I've also read the Surrogates and thought it was pretty good, but didn't blow my mind like Watchmen which I had just finished. Kind of a hard act to follow I guess.

Really? i could not get into avatar.. to me its this terrible american'ized wannabe anime with horrible voice actors and terrible stories, seems like a mixture between dragonball and naruto only worse

What ever happend to the old art style? i cannot STAND this american wannabe anime art look where they have twizzler sized lower bodies, huge shoulders, big anime eyes etc. (not referring to avatar) i just miss the old school stuff like TMNT, thunder cats, transformers, gi joe etc

BTW has anyone seen the new transformers cartoon? epic failure

Jekyll. Would've never heard of it living in the states.
