Hello,

When you enter a forum, there can be "First New Post" icons next to each thread that has new posts since your last visit. Of course clicking the icon will take you to the next new post in that thread.

Upon returning to the thread list with IE the icon would automatically disappear next to the visited thread as it detected a page change thus allowing you to keep better track of which threads you have already visited.

However, doing the exact same thing with Firefox the icon remains there until you manually refresh the page or select "Mark This Forum Read" under forum tools.

If you visit each thread with new content and don't refresh the page or use the "Mark This Forum Read" option, and then return to the forum list, the icon there won't get properly updated even if you have visited every thread with new posts in that forum.

Are other Firefox users also experiencing the same thing? Is there an option and if so where, that would allow Firefox to detect page changes automatically?

I get the same thing, but I've been on plenty of messageboards that do the same thing. I just look at the username of the last post before I click on it, so that way if I see my screenname, I don't click on it.

Right, it's not just this forum. Seems to be the way that Firefox works, or lack thereof. IE6 works great in this case and updates as one would expect by removing the new icon after viewing the thread. I just wasn't sure if I had overlooked something in the Firefox configuration. Thanks for the confirmation.
