for anyone who has a ps3 is the 2usb port no memory card reader thing a big deal?

well, i won't say it's a deal breaker, but you'd be surprised how useful that memory card reader is in a pinch.
i've used it to view pictures when my camera's battery was dead, i've used it to update.

as for the 2 usb ports? eh? if you ever need to charge more than 2 controllers you're out of luck, or if you want to use the ps eye and a usb thumb stick then you can't charge your controller, or well you get the idea.

i like my BC stuff on the ps3. it's quite nice. mainly cause it allowed me to turn my ps2 into a psp thanks to the magic of trade in.:D

the usb port thing doesnt bother me, because i havent bought any peripherals yet. As for the card reader, you could substitute a thumbdrive or just stream wirelessly from your PC.

The additional USB drives are no big loss, especially since games like Rock Band come with a USB hub (at least with the 360 one, hopefully with PS3 as well), so you'll never really need the extra.

The card reader is handy, especially with SD cards overtaking USB memory (as I see it), but there are adapters if you really want it.

I'd be really surprised if they did another price drop so soon though, unless they've really secured Blu-Ray's future so much so that they can afford to lower the price again for the long run... but still, $100? That's a bit much.

I don't really see this happening, they may drop it so it is in line with the price of the 360, or they may decide to actually make some profit off it (hey that rhymes). It would be great if they did drop the price that far as it would mean a greater install base and possibly less developers screwing PS3 owners over with inferior ports.

Rock Band for the PS3 does not come with a USB hub (though it does come with a wireless guitar) so you would need one to play with a full band.

I've been a huge Playsation fan (with both 1 and 2), but honestly, with not so many great titles out yet for the PS3, I will more than likely wait for another price drop sometime in the waited future along with waiting for better games.

It's the same price as the 360 now at Bestbuy in Canada. Don't know about other stores/other countries.

I scooped up the Dell deal: 40GB = Spiderman 3 and Ratchet and Clank and free shipping = $369 before tax. This was a week before Xmas though.
