I loved it. Brutal beyond belief but was very well told I think. I really enjoyed getting exactly what I went to the movie to see. Death Destruction and Rambo kicking some serious A$$. Everyone seemed to leave the movie extremely happy.

I'll go out on a limb and predict that this movie is gonna be huge.

There's heck of a lot of people out there who want to see a no-holds-barred hardcore action picture, 80's-style.

I hope it makes twice as much as that cut-down, ball-less DIE HARD 4, just to send a message.

I'm going to see this movie next Tuesday. It looks awsome. I loved Rambo 1 and 2. 3 not so much. I hope this movie kicks ass.

I loved Rambo 1 and 2. 3 not so much.

At the time 3 was pretty good because Rambo was fighting the damn Commies, but he also helped out the group that would later become the Taliban, so kinda weird watching it today. Going to see Rambo tonight and hopefully it's awesome.

Do you think I should see the first three (or at least the first one) before I see the new one? When the new Rock came out I saw Rocky I.

First Blood is a classic and Rambo II is great too. Stallone not only won the cold war in Rocky IV he retroactively wins the Vietnam War in Rambo II.

I'm going out for beers and wings with some buddies tonight. I hope to see this movie with a heavy buzz on.

Nothing wrong with flying solo. I've been to plenty of movies by myself, and this is probably another one.

Just got back to see it and it was awesome. Stallone can still kick ass, especially when he has a .50 Cal. The violence was ridiculously over the top and the body count was huge, just the way an action movie should be. Here's hoping for Over the Top 2 (j/k).

I'll add my (extremely shortened) opinion to the mix. Spoilers (OBVIOUSLY).

My thought coming up on the last few minutes was this: Really? REALLY? Are you serious? That's it? Are you ****ing kidding me? That's it? He did that entire thing from one spot? That's all I get? A guy sitting in one spot mowing down an entire army? A stupid bunch of mercenaries, no villain, uninteresting characters, completely stupid ending, and 10 dollars out of my pocket?

Rambo wasn't very Rambo in this to me. Probably because it wasn't written by the original guy behind it. All Rambo did that was significant (to the action quotient) was kill 3 guys on a boat quickly, blow up a boat, shoot a few guys in rapid succession with arrows, blow up a bomb, and then sit at a machine gun and just shoot for like the last 10 minutes.

He's still a badass, but he fails to be any more badass than he has been previously... he has gone over the "badass hill", so to speak and is heading back down at a leisurely pace now. If there is another sequel, I can only imagine that the "big action scene" will involve him looking at things funny which will cause them to then explode, because I don't know how you can possibly make an "action" film with less physicality from the lead than this.

I feel truly sorry for anyone that was hoping for another Rambo film for the past 20 years.

I say this movie fails. Completely. That's just my opinion though, don't flame me for it.

I wouldn't see that if I was being paid the price of the ticket... per minute, thanks very much.

considering how horrible the reviews are for this turkey I'm surprised that *anyone* likes it. Still, Stallone seems like a nice enough guy and if this means that there will be at least a few people paying then I for one am not going to rain on his parade.

Just saw this last night and it is true to Rambo form. This movie is more for the fans of the series than anything else. This was never going to be a critic darling. Its a fitting ending to the series kind of like what Rocky Balboa was. All in all lots of good times and lots of sauce.

I cannot wait to see this movie! From what I've heard it's nothing but unadulterated violence with a dash of story thrown in just to hold it together. As much as I love a really good story, sometimes a no-holds-barred violent movie is just what I need :)

I didn't care for Rocky Balboa so I think I'll pass on this one. I don't think he's made anything worth watching since Cop Land. It seems kinda desperate to me that he's gone back to the franchises they bled dry in the 80s. Next thing he'll be trying to make 'Oscar II' or 'Stop or My Mom Will Shoot... Again' *shudders at the thought*

I really liked the revisit to rocky in balboa...so I wanted to see the same in Rambo...and amid the absolute gore of war, there it was...

It definitely portrays "War is hell" and so are warlords...and every time one of those bastards got killed a part of me cheered inside...

I liked it...as I like Stallone...there were a few shots in this movie that reminded me of Jim Lee's Deathblow - a big, brooding, hulk of a man drenched in rain standing alone with no color - just a large, muscle-bound figure built like a tree trunk waiting to be unleashed...

the more i think about it, the more i liked it...

Actually it represented the real situation. The rebels didn't exactly become the Taliban. The Taliban was one of a few groups of gangster types that fought to run the government. (Mafia gangsters, not gangstas) After the help given to the rebel groups, there was no support to reform any kind of government after Russia left. Big mistake in hindsight. Plus, there is always a situation of helping the lesser of two evils during a war. Like France in WWII.

I thought it was awesome. It brought back some of the good ol' Rambo feel I had watching the first movies as a kid.
Maybe not the best story, but very entertaining :)

I have to say, for the most part, I really enjoyed the movie. For a Rambo movie, it really represented exactly what Stallone had done in the previous films.

One of the things that I noticed when the movie started was the LionsGate logo that passed by on the way to the intro. As soon as I saw this, something in the back of my mind said... this is going to be grotesquely bloody. After the first scene, my friends looked at me with surprise that I was smiling after all this gore. Something lately has gotten me realizing that LionsGate loves to make bloody movies, and that is exactly what we got with Rambo.

Towards the end of the movie, I was almost let down because of the lack of a serious climax.

My 2 cents
