You guys know how much of a Steve McNiven fan, and that Wolverine is one of my favorite characters, so needless to say, the fact that we're getting a Wolverine mini-series (http://comics.ign.com/articles/847/847742p2.html) (inspired by Unforgiven -one of my favorite movies ever!-) drawn by McNiven and written by Mark Milar (I liked his year long Wolverine run a good deal) has me really excited.

I like McNiven's work a lot. But the guy is taking on projects left and right here. Seriously? Come on.

This looks like it's going to be great and turn out a really nice trade (I read in enemy of the state in trade and really enjoyed). It's going to be directly following the Jason Aaron/Ron Garney run too which also looks great. So it seems like we're going to be getting some great issues of wolverine in the coming year which is real deserved after having to suffer through the whole Loeb fiasco.....

Art looks pretty. Will it actually come out on time? Who knows..

I'm very excited for this. Loved Millar's run on Wolvie before, and seeing McNiven's art again in Spidey is even a nicer treat

For the readers sake, I wish this were an OGN. I'm not sure how on schedule it'll be otherwise. That's pretty pre-emptive whining though, and I'm excited regardless.

I too loved Enemy of the State and also enjoy McNivens art so win/win for me.

Don't know how this couldn't be good. I'm not the biggest Wolverine fan, but I have been a huge fan of McNiven and mark Millar on their own projects and really liked Civil War. That in itself will get me on board! :)

McNiven isn't naturally slow, he got sick during Civil War and he's not doing any more ASM.
Stop the hate guys, this guy rocks. Period.

Did something change? Is he not one of the rotating artists anymore?

Our artists have laid down a visual template that'll be inspiring us for months to come... Keep watching Marvel.com for team Civil War's next project
that all seems to point to the answer to your question being yes. Also, SLott's next arc is with Marcos Martin

Hmmm... that sucks. I'd rather have him on Spider-Man.

Yeah McNiven is one of the best ATM for me. He is also a really nice bloke met him at WWPhilly 2 years ago and he was very gracious when i praised him.

Who's hating? All I see is love! lol
You're right about mcniven getting sick but actually Millar was really sick too. I think he was even in the hospital for a while. (crohns disease?)
Which is a pretty valid excuse.
I was annoyed that marvel said the delay was in order to maintain "artistic integrity" though. I wish they would have been more upfront about the reason. There wouldn't have been such an uprising, nor would there be the rampant skepticism that is buzzing around this new project being on time. I know that kind of thing can be more of a personal issue but they've gotta know we're going to find out eventually.
So all we can do is hope that the duo stays healthy this time! :)

It was about artistic integrity. Artistic integrity meant having McNiven draw all the issues and not have a fill-in artist. Hence, the delay for artistic integrity reasons.

Just read the interview about this series and I cannot wait! My biggest complaint with both ongoing Wolverine titles is the constant retconing of his orgin and all these retarded tidbits they keep adding in! The latest story about how Wolverine comes back from the dead every time (fighting the Angel of Death? *yeesh*), his soul being now-gone, the wierd sword that kills healing factors, this Romulas asshole, Logan being part of some spin-off race of Lupines, and the insanely horrible orgin stories in "Orgin".
I don't ask for much Marvel! All I want are good solid stories about Wolverine; leave his past alone!
That said, gimme another kick-ass Millar run at Wolverine.

right, but what I'm saying is marvel would have saved themselves and both the guys from getting so much flack if they had been upfront about the reason behind it. If fans knew from the beginning that they were both lying in hospital beds doing what ever they could do avoid appointing fill ins, I don't think there would have been so much complaining. I mean if it comes down to being accused of being lazy or slow, or letting people know that you are struggling with a physical ailment and don't want to give your fans anything less than the highest quality (which was the truth) I would've gone with the latter.
That's all.
