The Books (http://previewsworld.com/public/default.asp?t=1&m=1&c=6&s=430&ai=65907)*

Hey guys, this thread is for your most anticipated books, not your whole pull list. So keep it to a top three at most! :)

Edit: Post your whole pull list here (http://www.ifanboy.com/archive/weblog/january_29th_20.html)

this might be my biggest week ever, with 10 (maybe 11) books! Holy crap!

my most anticipated is Y:the Last Man #60.

my second most anticipated is Captain America #34 because it is the most compelling story in any superhero book right now.

third is Ultimate Spider-man just because I love pretty much every issue.

Clearly, Y: The Last Man. I mean, come on. How could it be anything else?

I'm also looking forward to Cap #34 as the best super-hero comic out there.

Oddball choice I'm curious about: The Incognegro HC graphic novel. I love that Vertigo is taking chances on material like this.

I don't normally post in this thread, but I do want to make sure that people know that David Lapham and Tony Harris have a Spider-Man mini beginning this week. It's called Spider-Man: With Great Power (http://marvel.com/catalog/?id=8069).

Looks like a big week for me. Lot of books I am looking forward to. 5-6 of which are top tier titles.

Most? Suburban Glamour. Y:TLM, of course. And then Cap.

It always comes back to Captain America, doesn't it? Why are you so good Edward Brubaker.

Y: The Last Man. I've loved this series from the get go. I'm still heartbroken about 355 and, sight unseen, I'm already a little sad by the finale. I can almost garuntee that this will be my favorite of the week.

Interested in the continuing Death of the New Gods series and, of course, Jack of Fables. That's all I see that I pretty much expect to be good that I regularly buy.

Holy crap, I'm delighted by just about everything coming out. New Avengers! Mighty Avengers! Y this! Cap that! Yowza..

After months of Messiah Complex, there's an X-shaped hole in my week. What's that about?

It's a big week for me and there's a lot of stuff I'm looking forward to. I'm going to say New Avengers Annual and Wormwood: Calamari Rising are my most anticipated, though.

I have a lot of books with high expectations this week, but these three are ones that I'm most looking forward to and won't be disappointed with whatever quality they are:

GREEN LANTERN #27
ACTION COMICS #861
SPIRIT #13

Heavy-ish week for me, yay for having just passed payday.

Looking forward to Jack of Fables, because I might be able to honestly say it's my favorite book coming out right now.

Ultimate Spidey because damn, gotta see what's up.

The Spirit, because I want a feel for the new status quo. See if I'm gonna be sticking around.

Seriously I have like 10 more things to say though... what a great week.

Nope, but I post in this thread every week. I am buying a Sub Glam single though. It's my one exception. Get my license next Monday which means next Wednesday could be the day I start reading singles. That's a lie. There's still that looming "unemployment" thing.

Yeesh. About ten books, plus "Wizard". Heavy week. Heavy MARVEL week. Most anticipated?

1.) Ultimate Spidey (as always)
2.) Avengers, both Mighty and New Annual
3.) Captain America

Honorary mention for Green Lantern. I'll be reading "Y" in trades soon enough.

Anyone have any idea what "Ultimate Secrets" is?

Wow, this is definately the best week in awhile. I'm looking forward to:

1) Countdown #13- Superboy Prime vs Monarch
2) Captain America- The new cap
3) Green Lantern- Alpha Lanterns

Great week overall.

I have so many anticipatory comics, it would fill this forum. Out of the 13 books I'm getting, I'm really stoked for Captain America, Sub Glam, Green Lantern, and the Tony Harris/David Lapham Spidey book (whose title escapes me this late in the evening).

I'm also very much looking foward to the new trade of Checkmate. Can't wait to read it.

The Spirit, because I want a feel for the new status quo. See if I'm gonna be sticking around.

This isn't the new status quo so much as the fill-in issue before the new status quo.

THE SPIRIT #13

http://www.dccomics.com/media/covers/8623_180x270.jpg

Written by Gail Simone, Glen Gold and others; Art by Michael Golden, Eduardo Risso and others; Cover by Darwyn Cooke

Many elements define the Spirit, but one of the more glamorous is definitely his femmes fatales! In this special issue, featuring spectacular stories from some of the industry's finest creators, discover a bevy of deadly new beauties!

EDIT: And replace it with Countdown. Cause that's been rockin'.

Anyone who hasn't said, or doesn't say, Y:TLM is getting a titty twister... or possibly a titty removed in an ironic Amazon twist.

I'd drive across the state just to buy a copy of that book this Weds if I had to. Of course, given how horrible my month has gone, I now have no doubt something will happen to test my resolve in this... bastards...

Now that the last issue's going to be out, I guess I'll have to hurry up with the trades, because I'm guessing there'll be a fairly limited window before it's spoiled for me. I refuse to read the discussion thread through all of next week.

Just for this reason, probably when I pound out basically a thank you "review" of the book next week I'm pretty much not saying a word about what actually happens in it, just if it works or not. But really, I'll probably just talk about 59 issues of pretty consistently damn good comics and give a tip of the ol' hat to BKV and Guerra.

No, that'd probably be a bad thing. Especially since I'm just about to start mine now at 2:30AM and I'm probably going to go do a couple shots of whisky first to get settled in and probably pound some more mixed with Coke as I pound away at the keyboard. It's been a horrid weekend...

Believe me, I don't want to be spoiled either! The final trade isn't out until June.On the plus side, this gives me plenty of time to catch up. On the negative side, this means there is a 150% chance I'll be spoiled before reading the final trade.

There are a lot of really good books coming out this week. I tried to narrow down my Most Anticipated, and ended up taking only one book off my Purchase list.
