I was at a used book store and found volume 2 of the "Bendis Collection of Sam and Twitch" for about 5 bucks. I bought it because I like most of Bendis' stuff, especially his crime stuff. It is a good way down my list of things to read, but I've thought about buying a used copy of volume 1 on amazon. Has anyone read this that can offer thoughts?

By the way, I know i could just read it, but it could be weeks or months before i get to it, so I just figured I could ask here.

peace

I just finished reading both volumes and i found them both to be pretty good, the second being the better of the two. It's not the best stuff Bendis has done, but it's definitely worth checking out for any Bendis fan. If you can get it used, go for it

It was a mixed bag for me. Like the paneling of the frames and McFarland art, but the story's conclusion really stunk for me.

did you ever read the second one Kwok?
You might like it more, have you read Jinx?

hey mike, are the two connected in any way, or could I jump into vol.2 sight unseen?

There just a bit of character stuff, but it's not really necessary. It won't really hurt how you'll enjoy the story. Basically it's a completely different case they are working on and the only carry over is minor stuff in Sam and Twitch's personal lives

No to both. I was so unsatisfied with the first book's ending that I had no desire to seek out the second. Jinx, I just haven't gotten around to.

well i say read Jinx first and if you like it, then definitely seek out the second trade, because the issues you had with the first don't really apply to the second. It's a lot better

I read enough of Spawn in the 90s to know a decent amount about the two characters...we'll see.

mods can close this thread and delete it if they want.
