I just started ordering off of amazon a month ago and I was wondering if $79 annual fee is worth the 2-day free shipping or should I just cancel the trial. I figure I may spend upwards of around $40 - $70 a month on comics.

is that the only difference?

Conor has it and loves it. I ended up with a free trial during the holidays, the year before last, and was awesome timing. Wasn't worth keeping for me, since I usually get free shipping anyway, and I'm usually not in that much of a hurry. But if I had the extra cash, I'd go for it.

Well I am impatient so it may be justifiable for me in a way.

I personally only get my trades from amazon and always have the option to use free shipping. I find the free shipping is very quick so there is no need for amazon prime, I too order at least once a month.

It's fantastic. Unfortunatley, UPS is worthless in my new apartment so I got rid of it, because I almost never use Amazon anymore.

It makes sense for me. It may not for you. The reason I like it is because I no longer worry about filling up my cart with a certain dollar value to get free shipping. I just pick something and order it. I think in that sense it actually saves me some money.

Also, around the holiday season, no matter how far ahead I try to plan, I always end up ordering a couple things expedited shipping, so that also offsets the cost.

And I do almost all of my shopping on Amazon, so it gets used often.

For others, it may not be a good deal, but for me it is.

I think if you can spare the $80 i would. I just ordered 3 trades from them and i even paid for the 3-5 days, and it still is going to take 6 days. Their shipping times are not that great and if you are looking for something to arrive then definitely. But if you are just going to add the books to a "waiting to read" stack, then it might not be worth it.

I took part in the same trial as Josh. It was great while I had it, but I don't think it's really worth it for me at the moment.

If you order a lot, and want it as soon as possible, it's a great service!

And is everybody remembering to enter Amazon through iFanboy? It doesn't have to be comic related to help out the boys.

I guess I do the whole "waiting to read" stack thing so it just doesnt make sense for me. I always keep stocked up with books just incase doomsday comes and the electricity is no more.

I've had Amazon Prime for a couple of years now and am not sure how I could live without it now. The convenience of not having to fill up my shopping basket with $25 worth of stuff in order to get the free shipping is nice as well.

I couldn't live without Amazon Prime either. For me, it is more convenient than having to go to the store and deal with the lines and attitudes. Plus, these days, I save money on gas. But for me the real value is in the time I save.

Depending on where you are, you don't have to pay sales tax either. So that can quickly add up to saving more than $79.

I use the Amazon card, which uses a point system and gives you $25 Amazon gift certificate for every 2500 points (you get 3 points for each item purchased on Amazon) so that is like 3% back. And when you are prime, those gift certificates are easier to use.

I have bought all kinds of stuff from Amazon, a treadmill, tvs and even washcloths. All at great prices, and I like not having to worry about paying for shipping.

Oh yeah, there is a site that lets you search for Prime eligible items and free shipping items only. I use this site several times a week, it is called www.product-place.net . Its not fancy or anything, but it gets the job done.
