I really hope this happens... altho this isn't the first time we've heard movie rumors for arrested development, I think that this one is more hopeful than the last few. *knocks on wood* *fridge falls back into wall*

This show had the potential to go on for years. I'm generally the first guy to tell you to cancel a show. I hate the immortality that ratings earn a show. Arrested Development though, that had something going for it. Something that wasn't done yet.

I guess a movie would be good, but I'm not sure. Don't think they could make a movie that would appeal to anyone who hadn't seen the show.

I think the writers are strong enough to fit the show to a film format--- I could see them doing some really clever things with the fact that it would be a movie and not a TV show-- I trust them enough to be excited.

It will be nice to check back in with the whole gang again, but at the same time I don't think a movie would do all that well. Consider Serenity as my source for trepidation. It was great to see those guys and get another story, but it didn't do well in theaters and it didn't really revive the series like we had wanted it to. I'd much rather get another season of AD than a film.

I liked Serenity and I never watched Firefly..

I honestly think it would work, if they make it a very easy story that anyone can get into from the beginning, but has all of the in jokes that fans of the show would get. It would be very hard to do, but if anyone could do it, I think they could.

Yeah, Serenity was a great film, even if it didn't do as well as hoped.

And as much as I, too, would love another season of AD, it's probably a lot more realistic to think that a film would happen before Fox would pick the show up again.

I bet though, that they'll succumb to what many say is the show's downfall, which is that it'll rope in the fans but alienate new viewers with all the inside jokes. But I'd be fine with that if it means more AD!

Yeah, Serenity was a great film, even if it didn't do as well as hoped.Tha's whats important to executives though. Whether things like that do as well as they hoped. I'd love to see an AD movie, but not sure if they have a big enough audience for it.

the main "problem" with the show is that there are so many (hilarious) jokes that depend on the viewers seeing all the episodes. there are so many references from past episodes. i would watch with my friends and laugh so much, and they wouldnt get anything because they hadnt seen previous episodes.

I pray the guys talk about this on TRS. Maybe a little themed intro.

I think that given how the series ended, it would be a good place to start with a one-off story. I mean, technically it's almost the same way the series started to begin with.
I think that they could make it work, as long as the balanced out the series references with new jokes that everyone would like.

As long as the profits for this movie go towards a cure for T.B.A. then I'm all in. (Arrested Development fans should know what T.B.A. is, LOL)

We should all start praying to whatever gods we believe in to get this movie.

Does anyone know where I can get one of those gold chains with the 't' on it?
