I don't know if anyone has seen the Predicta TVs but they are some of the coolest Televisions i have ever seen. Unfortunately by todays standers they blow however there is this is a company that make replicas found ironically enough at predicta.com. However they haven't updated their website in a while so I don't know if they still make them and the TVs they use aren't HD. Thus where Systm comes in. If you took a modern HDTV and put it in the Predicta case that would be my ultimate HDTV fantasy. Or possibly some other sort of mod to get a similar look, i'm not picky. Check out the predicta.com for some ideas.

I actually found some who did it (http://www.onomy.com/blue/predicta.html). Maybe you can get them on the show!

Retro is a great idea - if you are into "mid century modern" design. They had some terrific scifi inspired design aesthetics in the 50's/60's ... but HDTV does not lend itself to a particularly great retro mod.

Why? Aspect ratios. For a traditional 4:3 aspect display or TV, they are great, but 16:9 in any reasonable dimension is going to have massive letterboxing needed to fill the top/bottom of the display ... and that will ruin the lines, unless someone wants to get real down and dirty and chop the vertical casings and rejoin, or the horizontals and fill.
