We need to get someone to write a Revision3 plugin for Mythtv to easily allow you to get shows. I am currently using Amarok to auto download the files to my NAS, which MythTV can browse from the Videos section, but it would be nice to sit back on the couch and select shows with my remote.

I use podget and have a cron job set up to check all my podcasts every hour or so. I can just sit down and watch them with the mythvideo plugin.

take a look at conduit also, http://lifehacker.com/398775/sync-and-back-up-your-data-with-conduit-for-linux

you can plug the revision3 rss feed into it and have it grab whatever video's you want as soon as they come out and place them into a folder for mythTV

After some work, I found mythnettv, a python biased rss grabber that will automatically download shows, then insert them into my recordings. It even grabs the show description and the length and puts all that in there just like any other show I recorded.
It's not that intuitive to use, and you can't remove a show after it is added. You can only disable it so it does not download, and to re-enable it, you have to add it again.

Overall, the end product is more then what I was hoping for, but the setup is still a little to 'manual' for people looking for a more tivo-like experience, and you still have to hunt down the rss feed to enter in. Still no big list of video shows to browse through to find new ones.
