listening now, and I refuse to skip to the end for more clues, but it's taking all the self control I can muster.

Oh. My. God. I bought more books than Ron this week. That's frightening. I need to pare down.

Look at the artwork panel in iTunes. It's a new blue logo.

I still see the same old album art.
It's blue with "Pick of the Week" imposed over little blocks and the iFanboy font on top.

Looks...um, modern.

I would take a screen shot but I already listened to the show and deleted the file.

as much as i love the new album art, it's kinda sad to see that Jack Kirby panel go...

Where'd you guys get that panel anyway?

Having "I'm JOSHHHHHHHHH!!!!" blare out of my office early Monday morning was probably a little odd to my coworkers. :)

As much as we loved the old logo - it wasn't ours. We don't own that image and at any time Marvel could have made us stop using it. We wanted a logo that was ours and that we didn't have to worry about, which is becoming more and more important every day as things around here grow and progress.

Where'd you guys get that panel anyway?

Avengers #1.

Awesome. You answered my question. I love the Showcases and the Essentials, especialley some of the more odd showcases like the Unknown Soldier and House of Mystery. I picked up the Jonah Hex one the other day.
The one Showcase that I didn't enjoy quite as much was the Green Lantern one and I cannot exactly put my finger on why.

This was an interesting podcast because for the first time, I've only read a few of the comics you guys focused on.

Teen Titans - will read in trade
Fables - already reading in trade
ClanDestine - don't read
Nightwing - don't read
JSA - dropped early on (although the consensus appears to be that I need to get this in trade...)
Amazing - don't read
Detective - dropped
Crawlspace - dropped

But, I agreed with the assessments given of the books that did overlap, including Buffy, Abe Sapien, and Uncanny. ;)

You guys have no idea how wrong you guys are.

The plasma sword is a blot of plasma artificially placed in a solid-state by Forerunner-designed, magnetic-based technology for use by the Sanghelli.

JSA dude's just got energy built up inside him.

Can you wield them? Or are they just for being pretty? We do like pretty things too.

Speaking of pretty, has Karl Kerschl done anything else I would be aware of?

No, but I have used Origami in the past to win over a girl. Something about a dozen hand folded red roses that always works on those "artistic" girls every time.

So the quick answer for myself? No. I'm curious, what brought everyone else into the love camp? Because he definitley seemed on a lot of people's radar when this book first came rolling around.

I think when he first got wide recognition it was from All Flash #1 (http://www.comicbookdb.com/issue.php?ID=99426).

Showcases that I have quite enjoyed:

Jonah Hex - storytelling still holds up and the art is quite fantastic

Unknown Soldier - Starts off slow but they find their feet quickly.

House of Mystery - Short stories with alot of different art. the Sergio Aragones humor parts are really cool as well.

Didn't read Teen Titans Year 1 #1 or #2 but after Ron's glowing report I went back and picked up both issues. I'm not a huge DC fan but this title is fantastic, not sure if I'm just just blown away by the beautiful art rather than the writing but I'm certainly enjoying the hell out of it.

Also I totally agree with Conor about Nightwing, this book has really picked up in the last few months. Who'd have thought a comic starring a 'Museum Curator' would be so good!

p.s. I've already bitched about this in an email but in the video show you implied Grant Morrison was English, DAMN YOU TO HELL!
