On episode 49 they mentioned British sitcoms. I'm not particularly knowledgeable about it but I'm a big fan of them. The ones I've seen and liked are,
Mr. Bean (needs no intro.),
Chef (A chef, that verbally abused his staff),
The Vicar of Dibley (A big female Vicar in a small town in the English countryside),
Coupling (think, Friends but funny),
Goodness Gracious Me (If you're Indian or live in a place with Indians this show is really hilarious),
The IT Crowd (how the IT department really functions),
Allo Allo (This show about a French cafe that was an english spy outpost during WWII. It was on when I was a kid),
As Time Goes By (A show that should only be funny to old people but which I can still watch. Judi Dench is in it),
Blackadder (That other renowned britcom with Rowan Atkinson in it),
The Office,
Desmond's (A show about a Caribbean barber shop in England. I'm from Trinidad so this show was always close to me).
I like that fact that Britcoms are big on callbacks. That and the weird characters and the fact that the british accent in general is funny. Is there anyone else who can appreciate the brilliance of a good britcom? Any other suggestions about shows?

I'm with you on a few of those. The Office, naturally is awesome. I like Keeping Up Appearances and Father Ted a lot. And of course I have to mention Faulty Towers.

All great shows.
I'll also throw in "The Brittas Empire".
I wanted to use a reference to "Blood Bath at the House of Death" in an earlier thread, but thought NOONE wold know who Kenny Everett was. As a radio show "Captain Kremen of the Star Corp" (also by Everett) was hilarious.

I remember liking a show called Black Books. It's about some crazy guy who owns a book store. He's usually drunk and harasses customers, though I didn't see too many episodes of it.

Thanks, guano. I was going to say, what about "Spaced"?
Also love "Black Books" and "The Kumars at No. 42."
"The Office" is a given.
And "Peep Show" is great, too.
What about "The League of Gentlemen"?

oh-oh-oh... also has anyone seen "The Robinson", has the main character from the Office in it... the out takes I've seen are hilarious, but really dark.

There was only one season of The Robinsons--but it was fantastic. Some really interesting and hilarious characters. Martin Freeman was great, but the actors who played his brother and sister stole the show.

Glad to see Peepshow was already mentioned, but is anyone watching Saxondale? Its so damn funny and so is Im Alan Partridge. All the other stuff I like has been mentioned but I dont anyone mentioned Teachers yet did they? Not sure if youd call it a sitcom but it still pretty funny.
