Since they Discuss Films in GeekDrome, I thought I'd drop this here.
I loved the first film, but who thinks 28days was a zombie film, and who thinks it's other?
Also what have you heard about this new film?
Here's some links I found

I havent heard anything about a sequel but 28 days later is one of the best horror movies made in the last 10 years, but i cant really say zombie or not when im describing it to someone. I always say the movie is a Zombie movie without zombies. BTW the beginning chuch scene scares the shit outta me.

Well it was done very well. I think they are trying the whole Dawn of the Dead angle. Let's see how it does.

There wasn't, so you weren't, and here we are.
I think they are zombies, because they are in a zombie like state... except for the running and trying to eat you bit, which is more a film concept then a reality concept.

Zombie - someone who has returned from the dead.
Well theses people are not dead, they have been passed a disease. So I don't know if you can say zombie, zombie state. Sounds better. I will agree with that.

they are not zombies. they have been infected with the Hate Plauge (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hate_Plauge) from the Transformers universe.

And I believe the argument in the old forum also suggested that if that's the criteria, then the T-virus in Resident Evil doesn't create zombies either.
Why can't we just assume the virus kills them and reanimates the corpse a second later and call them all frikken zombies?

i believe zombies are technically classified as “the undead” or “living dead”, so the freaks in 28 Days, Resident Evil, Transformers, etc should qualify after all.
whatever let's us sleep at night.

That's some raw footage, or a "work in progress" trailer.

I'm pretty excited to see how this pans out, my biggest hope is that it keeps the same feel as 28 days. Some of the shots did give me a B-movie vibe, but then again this is raw footage.

The desolate city street shots from this inspire a hell of a lot more confidence in creating a true atmosphere than anything that's come from the 'I Am Legend' set. You'd think the canonical aspect of that book would mean that the film would get the best in production design (the first mistake was moving that book's setting from LA to NYC), but nope.
'28 Weeks Later' is going to be what 'I Am Legend' SHOULD be. I hope to be proven wrong, but I doubt it.

i doubt it too, baby, i doubt it too. the shot of him running and being chased by ALL those "zombies" kicks my ass...can't...****in...wait....
and ALSO, if vampires took over the earth. They wouldn't really **** shit up as hard as "zombies". They are more conscious of what they do plot more and plan, etc. They are more civilized and will only tear shit up as a result of looking for food, not go around destroying stuff without knowing what's going on, so at least THAT can be a beacon of hope/logic for the reason I Am Legend doesn't look as B A N A N A S.

i merged weedhappy's thread with buxomia's b/c they were the same thing. now let's keep talking about how this isn't a zombie movie at ALL...and how vampires create a different kind of apocalypse than crazed humans, AND how sick this movie will probabaly be. :)
