I've been playing Peggle on Xbox Arcade and Flight Control for the iPhone. I'm looking forward to them releasing more DLC for Little Big Planet, even though I had to return my PS3 (I will buy another one once finances improve). And I have Motorstorm: Pacific Rift on the shelf just waiting to be played once I get my PS3 again.

Their was a bit of a lul but i'm back in fiscal good graces and I made up for lost time, picked up a HD tv (Woo) and a few 360 games and Xbox live (Hoo) the big name ones Halo 3 , Gears 2 and Kameo .. thats right Kameo. CoOped through Halo 3 w/ my bro and I just can't force myself to play through Gears2 after the bad experience that I had with Gears 1 on the PC. NE if you'll excuse me I've got to get back to Burnout paradise and finding al those damn bilboards.

Burnout Paradise
I bought Burnout Paradise not long ago, and it is the best car game I've ever played! I love it. It's always high speed, many different challenges, you can drive almost whereever you like, amazing jumps, cool crashes, and no police to arrest you. The game never ends. It's almost perfect for me. The only thing I miss is two-player. BP would been more fun then.

I can't stick on one game for too long, for some reason. I can't finish Jak & Daxter - stupid platforming gets on my nerves.
Now I'm playing Oblivion again, as well as the Riddick demo (liking it a lot!), and also Gekioh for PS1 (on PSP).
How are you liking the first jak and daxter? I absolutely loved it, the next two games didn't really get my attention. Naughty Dog decided that making it more "dark and edgy" would enhance the experience which I don't think would be the case, they also added ranged weapons. Anyway I just started shadow of the colossus (loving it) and am also playing a lot of KZ2 multiplayer.

I am stuck and haven't really revisited it yet. It's a level in mines or something like that? I dunno, there's a lot of ANNOYING platforming in it. The fact that I can't invert the camera controls adds to the frustration. I HATE it when devs think they know best, and don't allow control customization. That is so annoying. I don't know if I'll ever put the game back in to finish it. I might just skip over it, to be honest. The platforming part I got to, I can't even see where I'm trying to jump, and when you fall and die, you start over from a bad checkpoint. It's just too frustrating.
SotC is great. I'm about 13 colossi into it, taking my time. Haven't played it in a couple weeks. Should do that today, I guess.
I have mostly been playing Dark Mist, Astro Tripper, Worms, and Chronicles of Riddick. All great games on my PS3, so I haven't been doing much PS2 lately.

I never understood how apparently the main character was an apprentance, yet he's able to electrify an entire room of storm troopers with Force Lightning and clear an entire area with a big fucking Force Hadoken. Yet the extent of the powers we see of Darth Vader in the movies is a measly Force Choke, and The Emperor doesn't Force Lightning with the power that The Apprentance does.

hehe, well they put on some extra powers on the characters. The emperor can move fast and throw things at you. As a boss in a game, you cant attack him when hes throwing things at you. And darth vader can does some pretty cool stuff exept the choke. But yeah, hadnt it been for the apprentice being manipulated, he would have taken them all

Just finished the Half Life 2's. I am currently running about 2 years late.
What sucks, I bought a ps3 so I could get to play the iconic ps2 games that I missed out on (shadow of collosus, godofwar1+2, all the final fantasy games, ect ect), yet my 80gb was the one they stopped backwards compatibility support on. I'm rather angry, but the ps3 games are still good.
Right now: Drakes Uncharted, Soul Calibur4, waiting for Skate2 (gamefly), Halo3 Mythic map pack, Braid, and endgame LittleBigPlanet.

You know, I have to agree with you there. I hope this doesn't reflect poorly on my character, but I never enjoy shooting bugs and aliens as much as other *urm* people. Just like the marines from Aliens I don't want another bug hunt.
HL2 has quite a bit of combat with you vs. "humans" (Combine Soldiers tbh) and the battles with the AntLions and Striders is great fun.
I love the HL2 games - I just don't love how the weapons "feel", but I think every FPS fan should give it shot (Episode 2 being my favorite) especially if you have an aging rig.
I'm currently still working my way through FarCry 2 - a game I probably would not have given a shot if not for Jeff's positive remarks - loving that and loving the new L4D content as well.

Just finished BioShock. Next up is MGS4.
It's rare for me to get a game when it's first released - I prefer to play through what I have pretty throughly before picking up a new title. On the plus side, I can usually get a decent deal on things once I get around to them, and have the benefit of a decent Metacritic evaluation to help me decide what to get next.
I figure by the time I finish MGS4, I'll be ready for inFamous. If it's not out yet, I may play through BioShock again and go for the Platinum trophy.

I'm addicted to GTA: Chinatown Wars. I play a couple of missions at a time at random points during the day. The missions are perfect for the portable format, and I love making the big bucks by dealing.
I picked up The Bourne Conspiracy from the $10 Best Buy sale on Sunday (along with Too Human, Silent Hill, Command and Conquer Red Alert 3, Devil May Cry and Quantum of Solace) and I'm enjoying the crap out of it. Granted, I'm only 2 or 3 hours into that game, but it is really satisfying.

Just played the Bionic Commando demo.. it's terrible. Capcom were really stupid for not putting a single player level out for this. The multilayer sucks.
Starting with the xbox quality graphics it went downhill. You can only play a small map and people constantly shoot you while you try and get to grips with the complex mechanic. Also they don't tell you the buttons. A 3D controller pops up on the loading screen and you have to press each button, one at a time, to find out what they do.. a dumb idea in the first place but, it's rendered utterly stupid by the fact that the crappy looking level only takes several seconds to load. How does that get through the testing???
Since I loved spiderman 2 I was looking forward to bionic commando.. now the game will have to have incredible reviews for me to consider it again.

I played through the Lost game about month ago. It was pretty bad but running around on the island was fun. I used the guide and went through it to get the 1000 achievement points and quite enjoyed it by the end. Without the guide doing the puzzles via the 'trial and error' game play would make you want to blow your brains out. :p
If you are going to do it. Don't worry about picking up everything you see.. you need to collect almost nothing to get through. Plus there are chocolate bars worth 50 trade points just before you need to get a fire torches or ammo. Do pick up all the fuses though.

Finals are almost over so I'm starting to game it up big time. Wolverine is first, and I gotta say, the first time I heard they were making the game, I had my doubts. Then I saw more footage and thought this was going to be an awesome game. It isn't disappointing so far (though I am feeling the repetition just a bit). Still, it's damn satisfying to lunge at an enemy that's lunging at you.
Fallout Broken Steel to be played after finals, maybe. The game tends to eat my time up like no other. Thinking of playing through again with the game heavily modded and me as a bad character in hopes of a new experience.

I just played the demo for the new Red Faction game because I have a friend on the design team. I'm not sure what to think of it. I think I like the beat-things-with-a-hammer and destroy-everything-with-a-walker stuff. The opening cinematic is terrible. I don't know why they would make the graphics in the cinematic look way worse than the graphics in the game. Blows my mind.
Anyone else play that demo?

My attention span is usually.. oh look cookies... what was I saying. Oh yeah... I starting playing the Peggle demo at about 1am last night (while I was waiting for Red Fraction to download :P ), I then paid to unlock it, without a pause for thought, and played the adventure mode through until I completed it. Which was at about 6am. I got 15.5 Million points with 55 retries. Which doesn't seem too bad for a first go.
It was a bizarre experience, I never looked at the clock or even so much as looked away from the screen in that whole time... I didn't even feel an urge to quit because it was annoying. I'm glad there were only that many levels. I might have died before I quit.

Turns out the missions on the DS version aren't that scary. I rarely needed more ammo or armour than what I had left from the previous mission. Overall the main part was pretty darn easy.
Also, the side missions I have left are mostly of the "Drive an ambulance", "Be a fireman", and "Kill 100 people in the area before the time runs out" variety (I think). I pretty much completed anything that I encountered during the game except for opting to take on the role of a taxi driver, etc. I've only completed around 54%, so there's still plenty to do.

Shenmue is one of my favorites too. Nearly every time I'm talking to someone about that game the awesome working on the docks driving a forklift section comes up, and it seems like each of those times my wife is nearby and looks very confused by how much fun I had working a job in the game. I finished the final main mission of the DLC but apparently there are some side quests I can do. Plus, I do want to go back and do the final mission over again. I just went in guns blazing but I think I did it wrong... There were all these other options that I didn't realize were options until I cleared out the whole area. And then there's the final choice which I want to see what would happen if I went with the bad endings instead of the good.

I bit the bullet and imported Radiant Silvergun for the Saturn. I've been wanting to play that game forever but could never convince myself to drop the cash for it until now. I've only played it for about half an hour but so far it seems like a fun shooter, but I'm not yet convinced it was worth $150. When I start to think "What the hell did I do?" I try and remind myself that I can always put it on ebay and get that much back for it.

Been building up my fighter that looks nothing like me in UFC 2009 Undisputed's career mode.
Best fighting game ever, for me. I'm not much into games like Street Fighter and Soulcalibur... I'm a lover, not a fighter.
It's not a perfect game, but it's light years beyond all previous UFC games that I've played. Could use with some additional modes and customizations, for example.

After finishing The Bourne Conspiracy and being so pleased with it I decided to give another licensed game a chance. I've started playing the Lost game. So far it is about as mediocre as they come. I'm not surprised, that's what the reviews indicated, but I was hoping that my uber-fandom would make me view it more favorably.

I played to the end of the first chapter or episode or whatever. Then I ejected the disc and probably won't put it back in. Luckily I only spent $9.99CDN on it. It's worse than mediocre, IMHO, and I'm a pretty big LOST fan.
Try Wolverine or Wanted, if you haven't. Maybe rent, since they're still pricey and a little short (Wanted moreso than Wolverine).
just started Broken Sword Director's Cut for the DS. i loved the original PC version and the remake is pretty awesome so far. they have a whole new opening and new puzzles already. that really surprised me. i was only expecting minor extra scenes but it's all new! oddly enough, there's no voice acting from what i played so far. i think the original PC version had voices, IIRC.

$9.99 used with free shipping was the magic amount that made me feel ok paying for it. Thinking about my stack of games I'm ready to spin through I'm realizing how many I picked up for $9.99. Bourne, Devil May Cry 4, Quantum of Solace, Too Human, Command & Conquer Red Alert 3, Assassin's Creed, and Silent Hill Homecoming. I'm actually excited to try each one of those, but I might have to try to throw in some games that retailers didn't see the need to drop to bargain basement prices.
I've only made it to the end of the first episode too. After that I thought "Well, that's enough of games tonight." and turned off the xbox. Can't say that I'm too excited to pick it back up tonight, but knowing it is so short I'll probably try and power through.
I'm definitely going to pick up Wolverine and Wanted eventually, but it will probably be after a price drop or two.

I'm finishing up Zelda II: The Adventure of Link for NES on Wii VC. I don't understand why this game is such a black sheep. I know that it doesn't fit the mold of other Zelda games, but the game is excellent. It's like an 8bit Symphony of the Night. Sure the experience/lives/save system is wonky, but once you understand it you'll have a lot less frustration.

I think you'll be surprised at how close to 10,000 you are once you play through the game, especially if you've spent extra time collecting trophies. Once you finish the game, play the windmill level a few times. That section at the end will top off your 10,000 blooms fairly quickly.
I just reached the finale of Valkyria Chronicles. I almost don't want to finish it because I've enjoyed the game so much. Every aspect of the game is top-notch, from the story, animation, characters, voice acting (with a couple exceptions).
I also started inFamous last night and wow am I having a blast with that one... pun possibly intended.

Seriously? Damn, I hate it when games are like that. Recently more games have been putting in some kind of progress bar or something to show how far you've come or how close you are to getting it. Red Faction shows you everything, it's really good that way. I feel your pain.

I didn't find the cake, but I finished the game yesterday. It was just OK. Heavenly Sword is better. A lot of games are better, actually. I think Wolverine got too much praise just because it didn't totally suck, as most people expected it to. There's a lack of polish, glitches and bugs, slowdown, repetition, bland and boring linear environments. If I didn't get popped back into Africa every 10 minutes, it woulda been better, but that's just one issue I had.
It's still fun, in a mindless, waste-my-weekend-away kinda way, but I had a lot better time with Heavenly Sword (better story, better voice work, more interesting plot, more variety, etc). Just my opinion.

You might be right, I like that it doesnt suck. But i also love the violence, which shouldnt be a reason to love the game...But it feels like wolverine to me being able to rip shit apart you know?
I dont really have any bugs or anything that i have noticed(glitches or nothing, not even wall crap really that ive noticed) But i do think its repetitive to a point but it some how keeps it fun?
I did dislike the Africa parts or like going back and fourth. and the monsters having to jump on the backs and stab over and over was dumb.
But I'm still playing(I beat the blob earlier today) and just you know having fun i guess.

Welcome to the forums, h00l3 from Newcastle, England. Your people make my favorite beer!
Having just finished Uncharted: Drake's Fortune on Crushing difficulty mode, I am resuming my first playthrough of Infamous. In games with good/bad modes, I always play Good, but I think I may just have to play through again as Evil. I'll go again as Evil but I'm going to take a break first and be a Ghostbuster. The game is already much better than the second movie... and thank Jeebus for that! It is crazy fun to wrangle ghosts while trying to trap them. What really makes this game extra special is the fact that the original cast has returned to voice their characters. It would still be fun if four other guys were voicing the 'busters but it is just rad to hear the real Venkman, Stantz, Zeddemore and Spengler in my headphones.

Hang Em High

Once Upon A Time in the West
I know a few of those are not spaghetti westerns, but High Plains Drifter was on Encore and, for some odd reason, Hang em High was bundled with GBU in the bargain DVD bin at HEB (go figure). Looking forward to watching Few Dollars More when I can get my hands on it. I can see why Dan loves Sergio Leone!!

When I'm in the mood for some action, I pop in inFamous 2, which I am loving. I loved the first one and the sequel, so far, seems like more great fun. I like the setting of New Marais, which is prettier and much more colorful than Empire City.

Exactly! After all this time, I had not been invaded, but yesterday I was invaded THREE times! The first time it happened, my heart started racing and I held my breath. I was thinking, oh jeebus where is he coming from? Is he going to stab me in the back? Can he loot my corpse and take my stuff when he kills me? Fortunately, I beat all three invaders (though the third one gave up and let me win. He broke both of my weapons and had me down to a sliver of health and then just gave up. Maybe he felt badly for me?) but it was a somewhat terrifying experience.
Jabber, I wouldn't worry about messing up a case in LA Noire, you can't effect the story in any way and the game will play out to the same result everytime.
Contrary to my feeling of shaken confidence, it is a bit disappointing to know you can completely fail a case and still end up "solving" it. Still, I applaud the game for being something completely different. I'm definitely still on board.

Even more reason to finish all my psp/ps1 games I copied to it.
I'm kinda worried about all the PS3 that will have bottled up with me not being able to play from May to September. :D

...I'm at a point where more than half of my collection (not just one platform) hasn't really even been started yet. My brain has issues with wanting/needing to collect things.

Worse with me. I don't even collect them, I re-sell most games and only keep those I really like.
But I have that well known "I already have like 6 games I have to finish, but this game is cheap!" syndrome.

I'm "lucky" that my laptop is too shitty to run anything decent. Steam is not a real danger to me. The playstation store on the other hand.

I've been playing a lot of Dragon Age II, which I'm enjoying very much. I'm about a third of the way through it, I think. I've yet to have sex with any NPCs though. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong there.
Also, I've been playing a fair amount of Uncharted 3 Multiplayer Beta. I'm up to level 8. Unfortunately, There are only two maps in the beta, the Airstrip map and the Chateau map. The Chateau map is a classic multi-level Uncharted map. I like it quite a bit. I'm not really enjoying the Airstrip map though. It's really wide open and kind of sucks. There are only two levels to it and being on the second level is more of detriment than an advantage. The weapons have a nice feel though. I like the AK-47 more in Uncharted 3 than I did in Uncharted 2. The GMAL replaces the FAL, which was my favorite weapon in Uncharted 2. It's doesn't seem to be as effective at sniping as the FAL, but maybe I just haven't tried sniping enough with it. Neither of the two beta maps are conducive to sniping. The only new gameplay mechanic really is the buddy system which allows you to respawn near your buddy and, if you and your buddy take down an enemy together, you can give each other a high five and get a medal. Also, the multiplayer maps have treasures which you can pick up just like in the solo campaign. Pick up enough treasures and you can unlock various power-ups. I don't really like most of the power-ups though. Overall, I'm disappointed, but I imagine the release version will have many more and better maps. Still, I'm not seeing any compelling improvements over Uncharted 2 multiplayer, and that's rather troubling.

Wow. I know what you mean, and I'm not calling you out on it or anything, but who woulda thunk games would ever have prompted such a statement.

despite the craptastic graphics, I'm really enjoying Call of Cthulhu, I don't know why it took me so long to get around to this one.

Dude! I just finished that one last year! Best Lovecraft game ever! though I didn't like how action oriented it got later.

I just started Fallout 3 the other day, and I'm like 2 hours into it and I've already run into something I hate so much I might just put it down and stop playing.
The thing I hate about open-world RPGs is how easily you can just walk into a zone that's too hard for you, and you generally have no idea if you're suited for an area or not until you get brutally killed. Why is it so hard to make user-friendly games?

I'm pretty sure Fallout scales the enemies to your level, so it's probably your gear.
Anyway, I prefer monsters being tougher than scaling with you like they did in Oblivion. There pretty much was no point in leveling.

blast Jeff for hyping Magic 2012 so much (can't really curse the show for it being an advertiser)...I started playing M12 on steam...wound up digging my old Alpha cards out out of curiosity.
(The fact that I know they're called the Alpha series now disheartens me...)

Playing Toy Soldiers: Cold War. Loved the first one set in WWI. Not really loving this one. Too close/not enough real estate to work in. The "Rambo" character is pretty funny though. "This one's for you Johnny!!!"

Playing Deus Ex. Also DL'ed the trial for Rift. Since I got my hopes smashed by that accidental Bioware SWTOR email I was thirsting for some MMO action.

Just bought Madden NFL 12 because my dad wanted it, so I've been playing that today. I accidentally played a game on the easiest difficulty setting and I forgot how ridiculously easy it is. As a veteran of the series since 2005 I could score a touchdown on every single play on this difficulty haha. I'll have to set up two profiles so my dad can play on easy and I'll play on hard.

With everyone talking about Dark Souls...I decided to give Demon's Souls a try (I never left the Nexus the first time...toyed with the blue spirit and then forgot about it.)
Good stuff...just requires some rethinking of how to play games (which is a good thing)
Edit: of course, I tend to play in 'offline mode'...not a big fan of the idea of people coming into my game, but then, I spend most of the time in soul form anyway.

I hope you enjoy it. I loved it and bought Dark Souls on day one. I have been switching between Dark Souls, Dead Island, and Alpha Protocol. Really enjoying all three. It's an embarrassment of riches, really.

I have been...it's going to take awhile, so I'll probably switch it up with other games and hold off buying/renting Dark Souls until I get through my current stack. I have Space Marine and L.A. Noire from Gamefly I haven't started, plus the ico/Shadow and God of War Origins packs I haven't gotten to either.
too...many...games...
Edit: right, and I still have to finish the last Professor Layton, and the new one comes out next week...cancelled all my game preorders the rest of the year except Layton and Saint's Row 3...so that should help.

Agreed about the embarrassment of riches in video gaming. Currently at over 100 hours of Disgaea 4, over 20 hours on Dark Souls, and *confidential hours* of SW:ToR beta testing.

oh, right, and for some reason I have FF XIII sitting at home, staring at me...nevermind the Fables and Elder Scrolls and Fallouts...I need clones, and time.
