Double Cross (from Hoyle Board Games 2003)
...and slowly working my way through Assassin's Creed. Parts I love, Parts I hate...but ut sure is fun climbing the tall steeple in Acre and diving off into the haystack.
I could probably list another 20 that I've started and mean to get back to...some years ago, some as recent as a last week.

I'm playing Barkley: Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden. Saw it on the 1up show last week and had to check it out. It's a freeware RPG that has you leading Charles Barkley on a quest to save the world from a terrorist group that wants to use the "Chaos Dunk" to destroy the world. Also it's the future and basketball has been outlawed. Sounds stupid but it's almost on par with the old SNES final fantasies and chrono trigger.

I also wholly recommend this even after only having time to play the demo, since thats what I accidentally found first. If you're not convinced, listen to Dave and Joel's Fast Karate for the Gentlemen podcast episode about it, you will not be able to resist afterwards.
Also a sequel to Space Jam, whats not to love?

My girlfriend and I are playing Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Rock Band (both on PS3), though Rock Band is definitely on the back burner now.
(I am a huge RPG fan, but I had never played an open-ended game like Oblivion because I have always considered story and character-development the most important element. Oblivion is, however, one of the best RPGs I've ever played. I recommend it to any RPG fan out there who has not yet taken the plunge into free-roaming, non-linear RPGs. You will not be disappointed.)

Also, if you can find it without paying an arm and a leg and don't have the HD version, Rez. That game really is that good.
I have played through both of the DS games that I have (New SMB and Phantom Hourglass) and need to get another. Unfortunately, this requires money that I don't have. So the DS is on hold for now. I know I am probably going to catch a lot of shit for this, but I installed Sims 2 and all of the expansion packs. The reason for this is because, now that I actually have a computer that is capable of playing then without freezing every few minutes, I think I may enjoy it a bit more. Don't have any of the "extras" packs installed (Family Fun Stuff, Glamour Life Stuff, etc.), just the actual expansions like University, Open for Business, Bon Voyage, etc. Now, that being said, I spend about 80% of my time building the house and the other 20% building and playing a character.
But I am always up for a new PC game. If anyone has any recommendations, I would be more than open to them. I have a MacBook Pro with XP installed to give you an idea of my specs. I have already played through CoD4 and it was amazing.
Oh, also playing SimCity Societies a bit too.

I'm going through the 3 Phoenix Wright games. I would be a great lawyer if this was all it was... as so far everything has been pretty dang simple. Well, simple in theory, not simple in action, as there's really a lot you have to do to get from point A to B, more than there should be at times I think.
After that I'm picking up Army of Two with a friend and we're going to hopefully have a lot of fun with that. As long as the online co-op through the campaign works without any problems, I know I will.
I've also got Lost: Via Domus I'm looking to check out tomorrow, the Experiment, which I'm waiting for a walkthrough of because it's confusing, the Club, which I haven't touched yet. Mid-March I'm grabbing Obscure: The Aftermath, possibly Baroque, and then Dark Sector to finish off March. After that looks like nothing until GTA IV for me.

Well to me, Bully is the answer Rockstar has to the audience that can't buy the Mature games. It works very much like the Grand Theft Auto series, same engine and game structure. The difference is that you're on school grounds instead of a city, and instead of cars you have a skate board.
It's a less criminal twist to the formula. You get to be bully or save the day.

So, my recent order of "Madden 08" and "NHL 08" turned out differently than I had expected...
"Madden 08" ended up being somewhat of a bore, with some really essential features not being there.
"NHL 08" actually ended up being way more fun than I'd expected. Unfortunately I had to catch a bus after 2 games so we didn't get to play as much as we'd like, but it kind of saved the evening together with the fact that we had pretty nice weather for this time of year, so we got some skateboarding done.

To me all Maddens suck and a total bore as they are all the same and find it dumb to pay full price for the same game every year.
I only bought 08 since it had Vince on the cover (fave team is the Titans and I still paid less than full price as I got a deal on it then) and was the first football game I bought since NFL 2K5 (was not a 2k series fan till 2k5 came out..still to me the best football game ever.

The Darkness arrived from Gamefly yesterday, it's a fairly average FPS, a good filler game.
The voice acting in that game is incredible (especially Mike Patton as the Darkness), and the darkness powers get fairly neat. The main thing I hated was the inability to run. It felt like I was slowly limping through the entire game.
I'm playing God of War on my PSP. Super Smash Bros. should be arriving from Amazon on Tuesday. Until then I've picked up Halo 3 for the first time since I completed the campaign back when it came out, and the multiplayer is fairly nice (I know I shouldn't be surprised). I've also finally gotten around to playing through Twilight Princess. At this rate I might beat it before they release the Wii successor.

Gamer confession time... I never really played them before (*gasp*). I watched my mate play MGS and played through about half of MGS2 and 10 mins of MGS3.
Now that I have the time to dedicate to them, I'm going all the way back to the original Metal Gear Solid on PSX (found it on ebay for AU$35). I'm only just past the tank boss part, but I've only really just started.

Which mission? Shooting gallery at Phil's ??? The game is much easier after that. I played it on ps2 though. After that the story really starts to flow and gets good. There are going to be some hard missions later, but they are easy once you figure them out. I know where to find some faw/walkthroughs on th game if you want.

OH man! I did that first try no problem. For some reason, it didn't even phase me, I think the reason is because I didn't get scared I was going to be shot. As soon as the 'shoot the snipers' starts, I don't even move, I stood right in that spot, started at 3 o'clock, and just turned in a full circle zooming and shooting.

Oh, I don't move either...but getting the the reticle on them is tricky with the little analog stick...I don't think it'd be an issue if I were playing it on a PS2 with a dualshock. I get close, nudge it over and it doesn't move, nudge it over a little harder and it jumps to the opposite side of the guy...finally get it on him and he ducks. Repeat.

Yeah, but seeing as it was designed for the first version of the PSP...then again, I was having issues controlling the hovercraft too, so maybe my analog stick is degrading. I can't imagine playing these games on PSP. Funny you mentioned GOW2, it's what I'm playing on ps2 right now. I'm almost done VCS but got stuck and have taken a break. The hovercraft is hard on PS2 as well - btw, I hate all the useless races in GTA's. The jetski is fun to handle though.

Warriors is great dude. I'd have to reccommend getting it on ps2 as I've never played a PSP. It's actually fairly long if you want to do it 100%. The one thing that amazes me, is it contains practically every scene in the movie, in the gameplay. It starts 3 months before leading up to the movies time. If you get the chance, watch the movie and then play the game, it's a great experience. DanT, you should play Warriors dude, it's like living in a free-roam movie you've already seen.

Beat that a while back, and I do agree. I do enjoy the carefully planned battles of Tactics as opposed to just random encounters every 2-3 seconds which is what I'm getting on FF1 at the moment. I've gotten to the point where I do not want to explore the dungeons at all simply because of it. There was a point where I had a fight every single step I took, it did that like a dozen or so times in a row. Then I got poisoned as I was leaving a dungeon, but guess what no antidotes, so my whole party was poisoned and I had to get all the way back to town. Except that town didn't have antidotes, so I had to get in a boat and go somewhere else to get them. All this while getting a random battle every couple seconds. Nerve... wracking... yet I think I'm halfway done, so might as well finish it out.

I'll put it like this...I have managed to get myself involved in far too many online communities: Myspace (including groups), Facebook, GamingAngels.com (I'm a copy editor, reviewer, blogger, and forum mod!), TRS forums, and the list goes on. Depending on work, school, and home life/projects, sometimes I have to take a "vacation", yeah that's it, from some of my web obligations; sometimes I only check my email once a week. I'll always be around and I'll come back, eventually. :) Maybe Serenity wa on "vacation" too.

The Legend of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass (DS) - I started this game a couple of months ago, but then my DS broke. I got a new DS, but then I also got Guitar Hero 3 for my b-day and Super Smash Bros Brawl came out the day after my b-day. So I sunk a lot of time into those two games. After a couple of weeks of playing the hell out of those two games, I'm back to Zelda. I love the Zelda franchise, but outside of Link's Awakening, I haven't loved the portable games for some reason. PH is good, but the whole time I'm playing, I'm just thinking about how much better Wind Waker was. It's a good game, but doesn't do anything special for me. Although I do think it's the better than Minish Cap and Oracle of Ages.

I am playing The Simpsons game on 360. It's much better than I had heard. When friends are online I'm playing COD IV.
I'm also on Crisis Core: FFVII, just starting out but it has potential. Also playing Wipeout: Pulse on it. I don't see a point in my future where I'll be tired of that one.

Otherwise, I played a bit of Metroid Prime Hunters, Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Rock Band lately.

I beat God of War 2 on PS2 a couple weekends ago and it was probably the best video game experience I've ever had. Talk about a freakin power trip...
Now, I'm LOVING Audiosurf. My GF has been picking out songs for me to ride and it's been great. She gets to hear the music she wants to hear and I get to play games while she watches. Plus, I've got the high score on a buttload of Sarah McLaughlin songs and other tracks that most gamers wouldn't ever think to play. :D
If you haven't at least checked out the demo, you really should.

It's called Dr. Mario Rx. ;) Anyone who bought it can send out a multiplayer-only version of the game to their friends, which is awesome. So even if you don't have the game yet, and you just wanna play, you could just get someone to send you the invite from within their copy of the game.

From what I've heard, the timed aspect of Star Solder has been in the previous games. But it was just another mode on top of the regular, go through stages beat boss mode. I don't know if it was to keep the size down or what, but Star Soldier R is just the timed stuff and not the regular stages stuff. So basically the appeal is just to get high scores. It was always a tournament thing for previous games in the series, so I guess they thought that would fit with WiiWare.

It's not in all games in the Star Soldier series, but I believe Super Star Soldier did have it. Blazing Lazers is a part of that series, I'm pretty sure, and I don't think it has it.
I do want a full shooter like this, but I already have the VC ones, so I got R because it's got leaderboards and better graphics, and I'm a sucker for this genre. Can't get into side-scrolling shooters though.
By the way, Hudson is currently running a tournament for US residents. Winner gets I think 3 Wii games from Hudson, as well as 160000 Wii Points and there are other prizes as well. You have to register with them and they give you a unique randomized nametag for the leaderboards, which you use to register your scores.

I just got Boom Blox. Played some multiplayer with my sisters and girlfriend. My girlfriend occasionally plays some games, but one of my sisters hardly ever plays games outside of Animal Crossing. We all had a lot of fun, and everyone did pretty well. It's totally the kind of game that a gamer can play with non-gamers. I love that. Single player so far has been kinda boring though. But I really bought it for the multiplayer, so that doesn't bother me too much.

Zelda is Zelda... The Wii version is just the GameCube version, mirrored so left is right, and tacked-on Wii controls. It's still a great game, but I preferred the other three games (especially Metroid and RE4). The controls in RE4 are just tacked on also, but they really do work well, whereas I agree with Jeff that Zelda's waggle to swing the sword is annoying, and not well done. People will disagree with me on that, and that's fine, but in real life, if you swing a sword, you pull your arm back and then swing or thrust it forward for a single hit - but in the game, this equates to two attacks, one as you pull back and one as you thrust forward. Bad mechanics that are hard to adjust to for me. But the game as a whole is still good - it's Zelda, after all.
Most recently I've been playing Beyond Good and Evil

Haha, yeah. I actually had this game for about a year but never really played it. It was cheap and new off Amazon so I bought it, but other games kinda slowly trickled into my hands. With the sequel coming out eventually now, it's on my top game to beat right now (with RE4). Although... if I don't beat it before MGS4 comes out, it'll have to take the backseat for awhile.

I concur.
I prefered the gamecube version...the game was meant for cube and the controls were tacked on for the Wii game (not to mention the Wii version has a glitch late in the game if you save in the cannon room you are SOL and have to start a new file)
I would also like to add If he can pick up Okami esp if you like Zelda..in fact I like it better than TP (if not played it on PS2) and DEF pick up Zack & Wiki ..Brawl is also great and Mario Kart.
And if you still have anthing left..try Lost Winds on Wiiware (and if you can try No More Heroes)

I always meant to buy it, but then the second one rolled around. So I decided to rent them and then see if I still want both or just one. The tone and characters of Days of Ruin are much better than Dual Strike. So now I'm playing and loving Days of Ruin. Hopefully I can get through it before Final Fantasy Tactics A2 comes out in a couple of weeks.
