Apparently, there are several sequels in the works, the KotOR franchise and the Red Alert series will both grow to 3. KotOR 3 (http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=92630), and Red Alert 3 (http://shacknews.com/onearticle.x/51283).

Very exciting. In the same report that the KotOR news came in, there was also talk about a new LotR game by Pandemic.

Thoughts?

KotOR 3: Meh. I know I am probably the only person on the planet with that attitude towards KotOR, but everyone kept telling me how great of a game it was that my expectations were set higher and a first date with the neighborhood slut. They were then subsequently dashed to the ground when you find out that slut is Mother-fucking Teresa. Maybe it is because I have the attention span of a nat, but if something does grab me within the first 15-20 minutes of playing, I can't stick with it. And that is exactly what happened to me with both of the KotORs. Maybe 3 will change that, but I am doubtful.
RA3: Amazing. I have be a long time fan of the RTS genre. I pre-ordered C&C3 and had such a good time playing it that the only thing that could get me to stop playing it was the realization that, if I didn't eat, I would pass out which would mean that I couldn't play anymore. Malnourishment be damned! So long as I was in a state to play the game, I was happy. I can only hope that they do the same justice to RA3 that they did with C&C3.
Tiberium: It looks like they are finally doing it right. Don't get me wrong, Renegade had it's moments. But this looks like it will be more like Republic Commando which I enjoyed immensely. Renegade seemed to be set in a weird time before C&C1 but after Red Alert. My memory of the game is fairly vague, but I just remember desert environments and destroying a Hand of Nod. Having Tiberium set in this future where tiberium has basically ravaged the planet is going to be an interesting play.
New LotR from Pandemic: It could be an interesting take on the series, though I am a bit weary of it. Pandemic tends to do a lot of free-roaming style games (Destroy All Humans, Mercenaries, Battlefront series, etc.) which some areas could really benefit from (Rohan comes to mind for some reason) but then other areas which are meant to feel tight and restrictive, i.e. Mines of Moria, wouldn't feel right and may make the game not fun to play. I guess we can only wait and see.

All in all, this looks to be a promising year for games. I just need to get my hands on a next gen console now...

To say that I'm orgasmic over the fact that KotOR3 is coming is an understatement. That it's still in the hands of Bioware makes me double the amount of understated orgasmic than what I previously stated I was!

Now if they would just release a Director's Cut of KotOR 2 with the ending they wanted it to have...

Red Alert 2 is one of my all time favorite games, I'm so stoked for this.
