No mention of the protests? Or the scientology stories? Wow... I thought it was kinda odd how those specific stories were getting burried over those 3 or 4 weeks. Kinda odd how they have still not modified their algorithm to prevent this. The fact that they excluded the biggest story this week, and STILL have not stopped the burying of stories makes me wonder where the guys as rev3 and digg stand on this anon v scientologist stuff.

I kind of get why they are doing that. Yeah, they support freedom of speech IRL. But online, Digg is ruled by Kevin and Jay. It's their planet, their rules, their terms. When you create an account you agree on those terms.
By not talking about scientology, they are saving their asses from fucked up Scientologists.
You know what they are capable of doing. I don't think that they want their lives to be shattered into pieces.
What do they do? They read the article and talk about the stories. They give personal comments on stories. That's where the fear begins. I mean, sure, I would rather have listened to a conversation on CoS rather then on a conversation about a shitty bike. Life sux, talk to your friends about it.

Yahoo! is definitely not an idle company. It's hard to compare anything to Google, but it's not like Yahoo is sitting back in the 90s.
YUI is a nice AJAX open source-ish framework, and their commitment to web development is substantial.

I hate it when I get hepatitis on my hands from holding a beer too long. :D Oh, and the Live Yahoo thing next week should be pretty cool!

One of the best episodes in a while.
Just weighing in at the Yahoo discussion. It's true that Yahoo hasn't come up with any good services in a while, but they have probably the most powerful advertising space on the web. Even though, I personally feel that the main reason Microsoft is interested in them is simply for web-real-estate expansion (in the same sense that Google is buying 700Mhz).
I still can't understand why the rejection is making this big of news anywhere. It was very expected and I'm sure Microsoft has a plan depending on it.

The out takes were the best for me at the end... I love Alex's looks to the camera and his reactions to things. Awesome.

Thanks! I'll be sure to catch it. Not just because Kevin and Alex will be featured (for what will probably be 10 seconds...) but because it sounds interesting.

They're better off not touching it. Scientology is likely to sue them (don't think they won't - hearing their policy is part of why I left after two months in 2006), and it touches on religion, however you define it. I'm actually surprised there were no lawsuits (at least that we heard about) regarding the CoS suing them to remove all links to stories about them.
If stories are dugg down, no matter who by, then they're dugg down. It would be wrong to start giving less weight to some people just because they digg down stories. Now banning people who pay and/or are paid is another thing.
