Grab some popcorn, turn the lights off, and crank the sound up.
A sneak peak of the new-old-new Star Wars. (Trust me, that makes sense.)

Thanks for that link.
As anyone of my generation (I'm 30) can attest, there's something purely elemental that occurs in our bodies at the mere sight of a 'Lucasfilm' logo.
This looks potentially epic, but despite my feelings about the live-action prequels I just wish they had secured the legitimate voice talents.
Am I just tin-eared, or did that not sound like Frank Oz as Yoda?

It's possible. He didn't do the voice for the original cartoon, in fact I don't think any of the movie actors did any voices for that. It does sound a lot closer than the cartoon voice, and this is a bit more "official" I guess, so maybe its him.
SPOILER?----------When is this supposed to take place? Didn't Anakin kill Ventress in the cartoon?----------END-SPOILER
Anyway, this is starting to look pretty cool. I really didn't like the animation style when they first showed it off, but I guess it's grown on me... at least it doesn't bother me as much. I hope it at least meets the quality of the cartoon.

I am sorry but I just can't stand those character designs.
So lanky and odd looking and Yoda now looks like a Gremlin.
Rest of it looks pretty decent.

What is this exactly?
Just a CGI movie?

Yes. A primer for the forthcoming TV series.

same here. I think those character designs are better suited for the 2D animated version. The battle scenes look fantastic though.

The trailer looks mildy interesting since the last 3 movies left me with a luke warm feeling toward the Star Wars franchise.

I thought the art style was the best part of the trailer.

I'm a bit worried, Yoda was the only legacy character to actually say anything. Anakin had that bit at the end, but it was like they're trying to hide the voices. I liked how it looked, but considering how far CGI has come in the last 5 years this looks a bit more like "Reboot" (catch that reference didja?) than Beowulf.

*le sigh*
This week Cody and I were rewatching Lord of the Rings, a disk a night (the special editions are split on two). Almost finished with Return of the King.
And then next week we're watching the original Star Wars. Since I haven't seen them. Yet my friend took her 16-day-old daughter to see the last of the new ones.
...and there goes my geek-cred.

My wife do the LOTR thing at least once a year.

Cool... but I still prefer the traditionally animated Star Wars: Clone Wars that they showed on Cartoon Network a few years back.

Once upon a time I did it every single week. Seriously. You should see my books and watched my life at the time. I had no life aside from LotR. I miss those days.

I still do it at least once a month. Usually on a sunday if I've exhaused all the audio podcasts I had, I'll spend all day playing Warcraft with the Special edition playing on the TV.
