What are your thoughts? I will post mine a little later as I have a personal connection and don't want to sway any opinions.
oh yea, lets keep it clean, no arguing, everyone is allowed to have their own beliefs.

I am totally for organ donation, I am not signed up though, next time I get a license I will. I know a guy who had a liver transplant, and is lucky to be alive. It is too bad that he is a total self centered donkey of a man, you would think that he would be glad to be alive. When I worked with him I wanted to $##%^^&#$& his @$#%^^@ half of the time.

For the record, I thought the title of this thread was "Orgasm Donation" upon first reading.
Oh yeah, and I'm for organ donation!

I think my liver and kidneys are effed from all the alcohol consumption college led to. been clean for 7 months now, dont know how long it will last, i like to hang out with friends, and light drinking (shot or two of bourbon) should be fine, im done with the nightly heavy stuff though.

haha, a good friend of mine has a plain green Lincoln Mercury that he has been driving for several years with no bumper stickers -- until, earlier this year he found a small one that says Orgasm Donor.. always makes me laugh :p
Back to the real topic though, i am a donor, and like to imagine that my organs are in alright condition..

I'm a registered donor who has spoken with his family.Ditto, and this is key - you need to make sure your family also know what your intentions are ... regardless of whether you are a donor or not.
You know that when you tick the organ donor box on your licence, you are also authorising the harvest of your organs for medical research (med schools need cadavers to practice on). I am not so comfortable with that.
My family know that my organs can be harvested for transplants, with the proviso that I get cremated afterwards.

I'm a donor. I'm missing a few organs right now, but some of mine are still very good. I've been the recipent of blood about a dozen times, and my veins are too small to donate blood, so I am going to donate my organs. If I'm going to die, but what organs I have left can save another life, why not?
I've talked with my mom about this. See, I've nearly been in the position of being a donor as I've been dead twice. I know it can happen. We can all die young. I did. She knows my wishes, and I have advanced directives (a living will) in place already. Unless in your advanced directives, your fmaily can decide to not donate your organs, especially if you didn't talk with them about it ahead of time.
Yes, organs can be harvested (sick word to use) for medical schools, but med and nursing students need to study real organs. Would you want the first time someone cuts on a person to be a live person or a dead one? To cure the living they need to study the bodies and organs of the dead.
Organs can only be harvested for a very short time after death. When my dad died, with the state of shock my mother and I were in (he shot himself in the head with a freaking hollow-point, and we witnessed it) that neither of us even thought about telling the medics we wanted to donate his organs.
It's something hard to think about, but very important.

I'm a donor I just look at it as,
I'm dead.
I don't need the parts anymore, why not help another person that might need it?

Wow, I didn't know that. Im an organ donor but I signed up under the intention that it would go towards a transplant.

I'm not a donor. I have to think about it more.
