I just posted this on Pownce but I figured I would share it with you guys as well:

2 years ago I had pretty extensive surgery done on my shoulder to repair a bankart lesion. I injured the shoulder simmer boarding at the beach and it kept dislocating which is why I got the surgery to begin with. The doctor said it was one of the worst ones he saw his entire career.

Well, about 2 or 3 months ago my shoulder dislocated. It was the first time it dislocated since the surgery. Ever since then, my shoulders been hurting more and more. It turns out, I have another bankart lesion and need surgery again. HOWEVER, the surgery may be more intense this time. From my shoulder dislocating so much, my doctor believes that it chipped away some of my bone resulting causing it EVEN MORE likely to dislocate. I have to get a catscan on my shoulder to determine if I need re constructive surgery on my shoulder. If I do, then the doctor will take a small piece of bone from my hip and build my shoulder up with it.

So, make a long story short I need SOME sort of surgery. Scenario A which I had already (which was pretty extreme the first time around mind you) or Scenario B which is A in addition to the shoulder reconstruction stuff. I'm not going to be a happy camper come surgery day regardless. :(

That blows. When are they looking at doing this? I'm going to presume in-patient? Demerol is your best friend.

Not sure yet, I think it's going to depend on the type of surgery I need. Spring break would probably be best if it's a long enough recovery time. I want to get it fixed ASAP but I don't want to miss school and would like to avoid getting it done as late as early sumer when the semester ends.

aria is right demoral is your best friend with surgery but it doesn' make up for the trauma / drama

i broke four bones in my left hand (i tripped and went SPLAT) and had my only surgery ever :o

the hospital was pretty trippy very slick every department color coded including scrubs (kinda sci fi)

the best part was my super cute anesthesioligist

he gave me a gallant look 'ill take care you of' go to sleep wake up in pink room first words 'demoral blanket food'

hope you have a good doctor mine was also a plastic as well as orthopedic surgeon and my scars are hairline the most painful parts were the stainless steel pins and their removal

at least you have the cachet of 'sports injury' :)

Hope all goes well!!!! I need surgery as well I have a deviated septum (nose) and Scoliosis in my back ) spine. I just need surgery for my nose, but as for my back....the doctor says if my spine bends to much, as its beginning to, I may have to go under the knife for a permanent brace.

I wish we had universal health care then everyone could get so-so treatment for an injury themselves they caused.

Dude, seriously give it a rest. There are a million other threads you can discuss politics in.

Ever had medical treatment in another country dude ? Ever compared it to, Beverly Hills Dr.Feelgoods, or UCLA treatment, or DuPont institute treatment ?

Hope it goes well. I had lung surgery last September. I was in the hospital for 6 days and had an epidural for 4 days. However I did come out with a huge scar on my back ;)

I totally forgot to update you guys:

I'm not going to need to get the hip thing after all so the surgery is only going to be a repeat of my original surgery. It's still going to suck and hurt like a bitch but a much better scenario then what I could have faced.

I'll be getting the surgery sometime in early June (after I get back from my Vacation at the beach in North Carolina). I'll keep you guys updated.

Keep yourself healthy till June. Make the doctors' day easier.

I have all kinds of injuries from my pro wrestling days. Some that mean I cant walk for a few hours. Not because of pain, I cant feel my legs below my knees sometimes because of a neck injury I never had treated. Well I can feel my legs but can't use them so much.

Bad shoulders too.

This infuriates my doctor because I wont have them fixed, I am convinced I can rehab them by working out. Even after I developed a staph infection that almost put me down. I ignored that too long as well.

Just stay healthy.

Well, I get my surgery this Thursday. I doubt I'll be posting here all that much for about a week as it's a LITTLE hard typing with one hand. I'll probably do some more Ustream broadcasts instead though so I don't get too bored/so I can still talk to some of you guys. Be sure to keep an eye on my channel, I usually broadcast at night (I'll put the link in my sig).

Kind of nervous. This is the second surgery I'm getting on this damn thing. I hope it works this time. :(

The epitome of the mentality of the right, my friends.

I beg to differ, only slightly. I know several rightists who would beat him for giving them a bad name, and whole-heartedly believe in UHC.
He's just ignorant.

Good luck with that surgery. At least you'll be fixed again.

Oh, I know plenty as well. Most of my good friends lean right, sadly....

Sadly, the vocal majority seem to side with Autodas. =/
