View Full Version : Product Reviews: An Idea for InDigital

I know there are a lot of products that I personally would like to know more about, but either can't find enough information online about them, or they are too expensive to just go out and give them a try. Which, in a nutshell, is basically what InDigital is about. But considering Hahn actually posts once and awhile, and Jessica has made an appearance on the boards, why not get a little more fan interaction in future episodes? Instead of just picking gadgets and reviewing them, what about a segment where they review a product brought up by a forum member or by email?

For example, say I want information about _____ iPod accessory. So, I post in this thread, or shoot them an email and say, "Hey, check out the ______ for me and let me know if it's worth buying." Hahn, Wil, and Jessica then go through the comments and emails, pick one or two products that they can check out, and include that in the next show. Also they could ask for people who have that product to send in a review of their own and maybe include bits and pieces of our reviews on the show as well.

Anything that gets more interaction between the hosts and the viewers is a good move in my book. It builds a fanbase and creates a relationship that currently only Geekdrome fans have, because they are actually able to interact with the hosts of their favorite show.

Thoughts?

Actually we've been talking about that as well. One idea will require some tweaking to the Revision3 site, but we're definitely working on it. I'm always open to any products you'd like to see compared. That's contingent on getting the products in from the companies, so it might not happen right away.

Thanks!

Hahn

Another thing that would be awesome is a sort of show notes. I don't know if this exists and I just haven't found it yet (it is my first time, after all ;) ) but not only would it make it easier to find episodes (more searchable), it would also prevent us from having to replay the vid, pause, open a new window, type in the URL or search term, and go.

Yes, we are lazy. SPOON FEED US!!!

Thanks :P

That's what www.indigitalonline.com was...but I'm just forwarding to Revision3.com for now. I was using a Joomla interface and the comments area got hit by spam and became a management nightmare. I haven't got around to posting show notes elsewhere...I will figure it out though.

Thanks,

Hahn

Yeah, I think not only inDigital, but most of Rev3's shows could do things like this. They should have a call in show like Call for Help of the Screen Savers, or have part of a show like that. Even use Skype or something.
