View Full Version : Midnight Munchies

So, when you get midnight munchies, whatever the cause, what do you go for?

I would kill for an apple or three, coconut, and canned cheese, maybe some Triscuits.

And Chinese food. And pizza.

Wrap it all up in a green tortilla. And then a white tortilla warmed up with butter.

I'm hungrier now.

When I lived in Jersey it was White Castle. But here in Cali it's either the local taco truck for a burrito or Jack in the Box.

But my biggest craving is for a pork roll and cheese, god I miss those!

I'm hungry for a steak right now, but it's not midnight.

And, all of those foods listed together would sound like pregnancy cravings if they were on the same plate.

See what you miss out on?

Why would you say that, when InNOut is in the same state ?

Aah midnight munchies. Generally I turn to M&Ms and/or Wendy's/McD's since their drive throughs are open late and M&M's come from convience stores that I live near. I only ever visit Wendy's and McD's late night when I'm at home and not at school though. You know. No car and the LRT doesn't go through any drive thru's though that would be HUGE if they did.

I've done the Wendys spicy chicken burger thing a few times, because of the late drivethru. I don't know why. I could make a better chicken burger in minutes.

McDonalds I just couldn't do. Blech. Been years since I ate there. I quit for a year, went in for a cheeseburger, as it was the only thing in the vacinity, promptly threw up, and haven't been back since.

They survive off of branding.

For christs sake, McChicken Sauce and McFish sauce are the exact same thing. Packaged mayo.

Hey man... when the munchies set in, you're "looking at a 7-11 microwave burrito like it's the face of God" (lifted from Robin Williams, I think) so McD's is perfectly palpable.

Edit: Hot Dogs with Ketchup and Cheez-Whiz also a perfect combination sometimes.

Palpable it is. Much like cardboard covered in grease and stuck through a food processor. Coincidentally, they taste very similar.

Some retarded number like that. I'm ashamed for contributing to it. But back to the topic at hand. I keep Baked Lays on standby for just that reason too. They lack the grease that most chips have and taste pretty good too.

To match your shame, there's one midnight snack I'm horribly ashamed of. Only takes about 5-10 minutes, and makes enough food for a small family, is Frank and Beans. I eat it easily once or twice a week.

Hawt. :p

Orange juice + yogurt + bananas + pineapple = EPIC SMOOTHIE!
(even better if you add a little sugar and use the frozen canned variety of OJ in it's frozen state)

Baseball season just around the corner - which means Baskin Robbins will have its Baseball Nut Icecream (Vanilla ice cream with cashews and a raspberry ribbon) again.

oh, and I forgot to mention... cheese!I love cheese. A sharp cheddar, a danish blue, a tangy manchego.

We are going to dinner at a place called the "Celebrity Dairy" in a couple of weeks time (go google it yourself, I am being lazy tonight). They are a goat dairy, and have great artisan cheeses (also sold at a local farmers market). Really looking forward to it, as it was something we wanted to do before leaving the area.

As for cheese snacks, Americans really miss out. You don't have Twisties or Cheezls. The only cheese snack better than Twisties are the White Cheddar Fonzies in Italy (and those are just rebranded twisties anyway).
