Guys...Is anything free in life? Anything at all?
Reason I post this is because I am actually thinking about trying one of those "Free Ipods" or "Free MacBookPros". Any chance of it working?

Reason I post this is because I am actually thinking about trying one of those "Free Ipods" or "Free MacBookPros". Any chance of it working?Yes - they do work, but you need to select the deals you sign up for to qualify carefully. IIRC you are under 18, so its going to be a lot harder for you - noone wants to put a teenager with no (little) disposable income on marketing lists (and afterall, that is what those deals are).

Well I could sign up as my parents I imagine or simply put the 1990 to a 1980 as I do with most other things....
But its truly not free right? You have to participate in the deals...

But its truly not free right? You have to participate in the deals...There are ways to game the system, but it involves picking the right deals, and cancelling them at the right time. There will be some deals that require you to fork over $$$ as well - so, while these things do work, you end up with a lot of probably useless crap for the item that you are actually getting for "free".

Final question....
Worth the say $50 in crap and hassle for a shiny new macbook pro?

Final question....
Worth the say $50 in crap and hassle for a shiny new macbook pro?No. The crap is more like DirectTV subscription, credit card signups (which you probably wouldn't get through the qualificaiton for), Blockbuster Rentals (OK, potentially useful), etc.
Its defiantely not worth the hassle. Better off taking five $1 bill, and sending them to the five people at the top of "this" list, then removing the name at the top, adding your name to the bottom, and spamming the crap out of people.

*Insert mom joke here*
As for the deals I tried it once for LCD TV and it's alot of hassle and work and personally I'd say your better off just saving up and buying it.

MuleD - so, what sort of TV was it, and how much did it end up costing you?

Geekdrome is free.
It's not free. It costs DannyT a pound of flesh every episode.
He used to be the same size as JLo but now he's a wee lad.

It was a Samsung and I looked into the TV and it was a nice one but I didn't end up making it. Did the figuring and said screw it. Never paid any money out so didn't lose any but I'll never try it again.

im already signed up for a macbook, razr, and ipod. if you want to use my ref link, just ask, i can use the credit.
it all comes at the price of how much time till you get all your greenlights, as well as a blockbuster, or netflix 9.99/mo for 2 months, to ensure that you get credit, which, 20 bucks and waiting some time for a macbook, im all for it!
Other then that, the answer to anything free in life is life itself, anything beyond your heart beating, blood flowing through you and what not, it costs, somehow, or another. lol

You can probably get quite a bit of free internet sex with creepy 40-year old men on Myspace. You just have to pretend to be 20-years old and a woman.

I definetly think you get what you pay for. The less you pay, the more hassel there is. Free is the worst. Keep mowing those lawns. Anyway, by the time you actually get that free laptop, two models will have come out and you won't even want that one anymore.

The Smithsonian museums in DC are free. Oh, and homeless people are an endless source of hilarity if you find the right ones. Flippin' George did backflips and "The Cuban Picaso" did a horrible drawing of me..... But for the most part hobos are creepy, so stay away from them.

I know it's easy to pretend I know you're not a fool,
should've known better than to cheat a friend
a wasted chance that I've been given
so I'm never gonna to dance again
