The toslink switch that was shown a few episodes back touched home and I just wanted to post this for anyone looking for such an item.

I'm sure many others have found themselves in the same situation and have searched in vain for good solution. My receiver had only one optical audio input aka toslink, however I had multiple optical input feeds (XBOX 360, DVD Player, TIVO, Satellite box etc...) Most of what I found online were cheap plastic devices that didn't work very well. I actually purchased this one...

Build quality and performance were poor to say the least. Not to mention having to get up manually turn the dial when I needed to change devices and there weren't enough inputs to handle all my toys :) .

A few months later I came upon the perfect solution to my needs. The 40697 - 6x2 Component Video Matrix Selector Switch (http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Go-Component-Matrix-Selector/dp/B000S1CEQ4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1203961966&sr=1-1) by Impact Acoustics.

The unit switches both toslink Audio and Component Video connections (I currently only use the toslink). The signals can be routed to 2 outputs either independently or simultaneously. One of the 6 inputs are found in the front of the unit for ad hoc connections. The unit is well made and performs flawlessly. I reprogrammed my Logitech remote to incorporate this unit in less than 5 minutes. It also comes with its own credit card sized remote.

I highly recommend this product to anyone who needs to accommodate more toslink/component connections than their current equipment can handle.

Thanks

Check out Audio Authority.
I have been using their 4x1 Component Video Autoselector for about three years. Great stuff.....great build quality.
