I myself am an avid comic book reader, but its always been exclusively DC, and Ive never gave any other labels much thought. I finally picked up Preacher about 6-7 months ago, and it literally changed my life, but since then, Ive read much more Garth Ennis stuff. Like The Pro, The Boys, Bloody Mary, and Hitman. In this short amount of time, he has surpassed Grant Morrison as my favorite comic book writer..

Anyone else a fan?

seriously? Dan Dare as in Dare Dare of Eagle comics and 2000 A.D.? I have a 1968 Eagle Annual with a Dare Dare story in it, I can't believe that Ennis is writing for this. I'm going to have to look into this.

On a side note Ennis wrote some of the Hellblaiser (Constantine) stuff and it's quite good. Don't let the middling movie put you off, the trades are quite good.

Edit: wow, he's really writing about the long time Dan Dare of my youth. I guess they're finally taking Dan Dare to the next level. I wish Ennis did this with Judge Dredd as well he could really round out that character. Here's a sample of Dan Dare, it's weird to See Ennis doing Sci-fi to me.:

It doesn't seem like the cool thing to be is a Hellblazer fan, but I love it with all of my soul... and Garth's stuff in there was great.

I'm on book 8 of Preacher and it, also, is fantastic.

So far, the only Ennis stuff I've gotten my hands on...
