View Full Version : Moderator's Power Tripping

The abuse that moderators have shown on the Geekdrome forum is appalling. Posts have been deleted and people have gotten banned as a joke.
Where do the forum users go for justice when it comes to the moderators?
They have been defined as janitors for this place, which makes sense. However, when the power tripping and ego of certain moderators gets out of hand, who's going to stop them or slap them on the wrist for being naughty?
Who watches the Watchmen? Yeah, I know it's a comic book reference, but ultimately, it rings true in this aspect.
I would have liked to have sent out a private message to the administrators, but all that gets me is nowhere. So let's make this a public issue.
Thank you,
Omar Calderon aka originx

I would like to point out that nobody has been banned. Sandbox only thinks that he was banned, he was in fact not banned at all. And I personally locked a thread that served no point at all, there have been no abuses here that I can see. Get over it.

Lets not forget that this was just a joke. Discussing the issue amongst us gets us nowhere. Discussing it with Token will, and for future reference to EVERYBODY here, if you have an issue with a user/mod take it up using the means Rev3 has provided us with.
I bet you a million jr. bacon cheeseburgers that as soon as Token reads that he's upset forum members he'll realize that it wasn't funny and he won't do it again. We can't go on power trips ourselves like this and expect to punish him some way. We have no power and the lesson will be learned all on it's own. I think he just needs to apologize to Diva and all will be fine in the Drome, except for the smell comming from Atomusk's cage. Can we hire somebody to take care of that?

No matter the forum, mods are always accused to being power abusers.

Yes, sandstone was never banned. I sent him PMs at the time asking him why he was under the impression he was banned. He never replied, yet went around posting how he was banned. It simply was not true.
It may have been some sort of misunderstanding and he THOUGHT he was banned. But, he wasn't.
Those threads were closed because they became so insanely offtopic due to the misinformation.
edit: oh wait, I posted this before seeing the whole divadawg thing. Umm. She isn't banned... Dunno what happened earlier. I was on a plane all day :)

Very nice, two threads, two different places, one forum.
Now they are merged.

Moderator actions aren't up for discussion. Period.
If you feel things aren't being handled in a justified manner in the Geekdrome section (or any other sections for that matter), in regards to the way moderation is being handled, please PM me.
Do NOT post a public thread. If you believe a certain moderator is abusing his power, let me know via PM, and I'll address the issue. I'm the one to come to on issues like this. Nobody else, and certaintly not publically on the boards.
