Whats with the cane?

Ok, I'll admit, I'm lazy, too lazy too look it up, but what is with Martin carrying a cane?

I'm sure the answer is in here somewhere, but I don't really want to look for it. Anytime I try, I just get distracted. Anyone know? And if so why not feed it to the wikipedia monster?

He used to use it for beating Joey ... and now I think he uses it as a psychological crutch.

He tripped trying to scale the world's biggest mountain. On his way down the mountain, falling, he was caught by Thundroo, the magical ogre who granted Marty one wish. The catch was that Thundroo would get to kick Marty's leg until it broke. Marty accepted.

'Psychological crutch'.. okay I can see that, but climbing the biggest mountain? Thundroo? Ol' Marty Sarge deserves better than that.

Don't get me wrong, its good to be inventive and all that, but at least try to make an effort. The "Biggest Mountain"? Really? What, are you eight? Or almost ten? If you are, thats cool, I could tell you a sweet story about the baddest dirt bike ever. Maybe we could combine that with the biggest mountain ever. Dirt bikes are pretty sweet eh?

Have you not been watching the show? Every week Marty recants the harrowing tale of how he was injured so severely that he is now left to walking with a limp and a cane.

I heard rumor that he was locked in an epic battle with the gods. He was able to overcome the mighty titans but not before one of them stole his ability of balance in his leg. :(
