I'm a big fan of the Child's Play (http://www.childsplaycharity.org/) charity that Gabe and Tycho (of PennyArcade) set up to benefit children's wards in hospitals by providing toys and games to help them get through it all. I've donated the last two years.

I thought it would be cool for Geekdrome to donate collectively. I'd forgo my normal donation and we could all pool our money and donate together.

That's some heartwarming shit, no? So, what do you say?

JLo, if you approve, I think it's up to you (or DannyT?) to bless it and get it going.

It's early yet, but I want to know if we're doing this since otherwise I need to donate on my own. :)

I'm down with it if the guys want to organize.

PS you might want to edit the title, I almost didn't open the thread because I thought it was about the horror movie of the same name.

The Penny Arcade guys already have a ton of support. I think it Dan and Jon take up another cause it should be something more personal to them or the audience.

By personal, do you mean on the level of the Tyson charity? It might be a while before something THAT personal comes along. Anyways, I thought it sort of fit with the geekdrome theme. But, if this is a "no go" that's fine. I'll still donate on my own and encourage others to do the same.

Who was that masked mod? Thanks! It wasn't Brian that did it ;) ...

Child's Play is a good cause - regardless of whether the Dromies get together for a cause of there own or not, I'll be supporting these guys again this year.

I'm also a big fan of Child's Play, but personally I think it would be better just to encourage people to donate on their own. I prefer to donate to the hospital closest to where I live, for example. But it would be cool if there was something on the show about it, ito let more people know.
