Watchmen Movie Character Photos

So, I'm still skeptical of the movie version of Watchmen as I really love the comic book. But here's finally the first five character photos from the movie. What do you guys think?

Awesome indeed. Although I predict inordinate amounts of fanboy bitching about Ozymandias's nipples.

The Silk Spectre suit in the comic was ludicrous. I'm amazed that they got it to work in real life.

Rorschach is... Rorschach. With that character it's all about the voice.

The Comedian is so perfect I almost want to cry.

Yeah, the nipples are a bit much. Ozy is probably the one I'm most skeptical about. Rorschach, Comedian, Silk Spectre and Nite Owl looks awesome though.

I kind of agree with Moriarty's comments on it:

“The Thing To Keep In Mind…is that all the art in the books was not just Dave Gibbons drawing in a vacuum, but reacting to the 'dark' trend in comics for the few years prior to the writing of that book.

What you’ll see in the film is obviously based on the book, but it’s also just as much a comment on the superhero films of the last few years. So these costumes should make you think of the book, but they should also be a reaction to the way all superhero movies are designed now, and a deconstruction of that.”

Comedian, silk, and ros look spot on. Night owl and ozy could be better but still look great. I'm a little nervous about the look of it still. I think a major factor in the comics is the atmosphere. And yes I think all the fans of the comic are going to end up being dissapointed with the movie. The movie would need to be atleast 3 hours to capture just the highlights of the comic. Still could be a good adaption though.

We had this discussion on another forum I'm on... Here's what I said there about Ozymandias:
I think these costumes are in keeping with the characters, rubber nipples and all. Ozymandias was supposed to be a self possessed vain shell of a man, and that picture says that to me right away.

I keep hearing that complaint. I would think it makes sense to his character as he's supposed to be living out his child hood dreams and Batman Comics would fit into that idea. Both are DC properties so it makes sense. NightOwl is supposed to be overweight though, and this guy clearly isn't
