Todays Japanese PSN update features a short but fun demo of Echochrome, the Escher inspired puzzle game. The text is all in Japanese, but the voiceover that guides you through the tutorials etc. is all English.

The controls are very simple, you just use the analogue sticks to rotate the playing field and use R1/L1 to rotate faster. Your character walks automatically through the level and all you have to do is create a path using the 5 rules, and collect the 'echos' along the way. The presentation is VERY simplistic, the graphics consist purely of line art, but it looks really nice.

It's kind of hard to describe if you haven't seen it in action, but it seems like the full game could be a lot of fun.

Tried to play it but it says something about the copyright information being invalid.

Try the PSP version, I think you don't have to access the Japanese PS Store for the demo, as it's available in the official website
http://www.pspfanboy.com/2008/03/06/echochrome-downloadable-demo/

I got it right from the Japanese official website
here's the link of the file itself

Create a folder named NPJG90019 inside PSP->Game and put the downloaded file inside NPJG90019 folder. Go to the PSP XMB Game Section, it is placed in the Memory Stick Data. Enjoy:D

For both PSP and PS3, just open a JP account (you know...get any japan address from the internet) for those free download content. Most people in HK have a US account and a JP account for the latest demo, and a HK account for playing online.:D

i have a US, UK, and JP account on my PS3 all you have to do is sign up. You will probably have to google how to set up the JP account thou since the set up is not in english.

Mmm, much funner than that flash demo that was out so long ago. I think I'll like it. It's a very mellow game, including the music and everything. The only thing that I know will end up frustrating me is that sometimes the game doesn't do what you want it to, even if everything is positioned right.
