Love the show but could Dan please consider what he wants to say before each show?

Listening to his "ummm" and "ahhhhh" is kind of annoying until he get to his point.

It's 'Dan-isms'.

And most of the time it's very charming. Especially watching Jeff and Alex break up when Danny has a particularly stubborn thought to get out.

God forbid they ever come to the show with prepared material. That'd take all the flavour out of it.

What a boring episode that would be.

Dan is like a little kid. You have to tell him not to say and or uhm while thinking when presenting.

they also have to tell him to not clap his hands together

I love Dan. He's hilarious. And I agree with everyone else that the lack of preparation is vital.

I like that the shows not scripted. I like when the go off topic then get back on. I like the whole surprise element like they did to jeff (priceless). Its like your sitting in the room with this guys.

Its just rad

You are mean. I like Dan. I like how he talks, I talk the same way about stuff. My mom does too when she is trying to explain something to me without using the words I don't understand, like when she is talking about work or politics.

I like Dan how he is but I don't think I like you, you are mean. My mom says that this is the first time you posted. She said there is a word for you but I think she isn't saying the right word because I am too young to hear the right word. I looked up troll in the dictionary and it only mentioned about mythology so I don't think that is the right word.

Actually, that is what you call people like him on the internet. He is an internet troll. Internet trolls express ridiculous opinions usually designed only to irritate everyone else or in some other way stir up emotions. This is called "trolling for posts", derived from a method of fishing. All this guy is probably doing is trying to shock everyone by writing something he, deep in his heart, doesn't believe.

That is the way of the troll.

Awesome, that's what this post is!

Dan has a style that I've been enjoying for two years now and is not going to change because of one newb posting.

1) There is no compulsory charge for revision3 shows. If you don't like the show then don't watch it. There are plenty of other free places to get reviews of the material covered on TRS. I would say that none of them are as good, but that's subjective.

2) If TRS was scripted in any way then it would be plausible for viewers to think that the guys were being paid to give opinions which weren't their own. Alex has talked about this on Diggnation and Pat has talked about it on Tekzilla.

3) Dan is clearly trying to be sensitive and think of the best word for the occasion. In my opinion Alex is a little more spontaneous in his reactions and in giving his opinion, maybe it's because he has a longer history of presenting and is more adept at doing this, perhaps it's because he feels more free to give his opinion without thinking of the consequences. I think it's good that there are three very different presenters on TRS and I like the fact that they rarely agree 100%, it gives you more than one perspective on a game/film/show/comic and you can think about which of those reactions you are most likely to sympathise with and decide if you want to buy something based on the mix of these opinions.

4) It is extremely easy to get the gear together to put out a pretty basic podcast. If you feel that you want to do the same thing as Dan, Alex and Jeff do but you want to do it in your own way then just do it.

Dan does know what hes going to say before the show, because he knows what theyre reviewing. He just not as eloquent a speaker as Jeff and to a lesser degree, Alex. I doesnt bother me much after 50 episodes.

Well said Anakin. (and welcome to the boards, I'm glad your mom let you get an account).

But, to the topic creator, you remind me of those terrible girlfriends. You know the ones. They say they love their man just the way he is.....as long as he changes how he acts, how he dresses, and his interests. This is the way Dan is and we love his "isms". If you don't like it, there are many other forms of media out there, so I suggest a perusal of the interwebs to find some more to your liking.

If he just recently started watching I can understand why he'd say that (and you can too, honestly) but Euan if you keep watching you really grow to love it. Sometimes if you look real close at Dan's eyes you can see the trains colliding in his brain.

Thats the beauty of dan, he is honest and on the spot with his reply. Sure, he could sit down, take notes and polish it more then blizzard did WoW, but if you want that you can watch any number of shows. Its hard to lie and not get caught, its hard to not be honest when you just jump into it on the spot. You also have to understand is that dan has a lot of experience in the movie industry, so he is trying to express huge ideas and sometimes when you have a huge idea its hard to sum it up in a quick communication. I know i do the same thing.

Funny, you don't see forum threads like this on the Diggnation group about Kevin's "like like like" thing. Personally haters need to get over it. It's not like they are professionals. They didn't go to school to be on-camera personalities, it just happened. They are also geeks. Geeks are not always the most articulate (some are, I know, I'm generalizing).

Dan's issue isn't himself, it's the fact he sits next to two experienced orators, so his short comings stand out. But as others have said, they make him more endearing and, frankly, REAL. Don't forget this is unscripted and conversational. I know I'm not alone in feeling, I don't want that to change. If TRS became scripted it would suck like a Dyson and sink like the Titanic!

Thank you, Max. I will be working this word into my repertoire. :)

I tend to have these moments, usually when I'm overly excited/passionate about something, and it can be frustrating to a normally articulate individual. That's why I smile when Dan does it, I can relate.

Exactly. The beauty of this show and others, like diggnation, is that it seems as though they're just a bunch of guys hanging around talking... hanging out. That's what makes the show so great.
