I was wondering suddenly this morning why the Totally Rad show doesn't have a music section for their RAD selection of tracks? Can there be RAD Beats to dance to on the show? Is there no love for music?

For one in particular I submit this song and video from the electro french duo JUSTICE to the midnight society ...

If you can name at least 5 of the logo references in this YOU JUST WON THE GAME!!!

They said a while ago about new sections, they dont know enough about Music to warrant having a Music section in the show to do it and the fans enough justice.

Yea music is so subjective and there are so many different genres they feel they couldn't do it justice. And they're not music buffs they're casual listeners and get what music they do listen to from friends and loved ones.

Check out Sirius 26 Left of Center when they do blog radio. They give different bloggers the station for an hour I think each day. I can't remember all the bloggers that have a show but these are a few I remember off hand:

Product Shop NYC
Aquarium Drunkard
My Old Kentucky Blog
Gorrilla vs Bear

I'd like them to sign up to Last.fm though.

You prefer Last.fm over Mog?

I've been using last.fm for so long it would be hard to change to a new site.

How is Mog better than last.fm? How strong is the user community? It used to feel like last.fm had a pretty strong community, but lately I'm seeing fewer and fewer people post. I don't know if it is just the groups I'm subscribed to.

Honestly I really don't know. I don't have the time to get as involved with it as I'd like. I'm hardly able to keep up with the forums here. I just always have Last.fm and Mog running when I listen to music. I'm sure my info is being updated but it's been awhile since I checked out what other people were listening to. I hear about most new...make that all new music from Sirius. I pretty much only listen to that Left of Center channel. Too many times I've heard them play stuff that I just had to go out and buy the CD.

Have you heard the new NIN album? I'm not even sure if you'd call it that, Reznor released several volumes. It's all instrumental but it's pretty good. Most of it I find just very relaxing. To me it's similar to some of the things on Further Down the Spiral just with out lyrics. I picked up Ghosts I-VI for $5 on his site. Good deal for 36 songs.

yeah, I really love that new NIN release. I also immediately thought of Further Down the Spiral, which I still listen to nearly as much as I did back when it first came out. I toyed with the idea of getting the $75 version so I could have the data disc to use in garageband, but I always get those things but almost never end up using them. I ended up buying the $10 cd plus downloads version. I can see how some people won't be into this, but it is much better than I'd hoped for when I first read about the experimental nature of the project.

I love how much thought he's putting into these releases. Each of the tracks has a different image attached as artwork, and it looks tremendous on my iPod touch. I went back to listen to the Saul Williams that Reznor produced, and I realized that he had filled out the lyrics tag. I ended up spending the next hour of work reading through the lyrics as I listened to it. I get a feeling that it won't be that long before we get another official album from him. Can't wait to see what he does with that one.
