I just happen to be reading GOLD by I. Asimov in which he wrote this equation:
Robot = Machine + Computer
What I saw on the show was a machine operated by human with remote. How can they call it a robot?
Robot <> Machine + Human + RC remote
Aside from that nit I found it, ep40, to have been an excellent episode with useful information. I am thinking that I might try to build a prototype robot using the cardboard sheets they used.

I agree with you there. It's like a remote controlled car with weapons...not something vaguely autonomous.

they are more of a RC Robot vs Autonomous robot
Autonomous robots are robots which can perform desired tasks in unstructured environments without continuous human guidance.

As I read it then your saying in affect:
Robot = machine
Is that correct?

If you're going to split hairs over the definition of a robot, at least use proper grammar. What you meant to say was, "in effect," not affect. That's the least of that sentence's problems...
Have a nice day ;)

A robot doesn't need a computer. It just helps. But, you are correct, these "combat robots" are just remote control destruction machines.
