View Full Version : Does anybody else think that the Revision3 logo is too big on the video?

I don't know about you guys but I think that the green revision3 logo on the video is really distracting. In my opinion they should place only the logo on the bottom-right of the screen like any other TV channel, maybe make it a transparent gray so its still watermarked and it wont be an eye-sore. But that is just my two cents.

I disagree. I dont think it is distracting at all...I don't have a problem with it in the slightest.

I have more of an issue with the credit overlay covering half the screen and obfuscating things like the clips at the end, or gameplay video during the game section, etc.
Unlike regular TV, there's not much that the Rev3 logo covers up...and using only the TV set part of the logo wouldn't let someone ID the station by a glance unless they were familiar enough with revision3 to remember that.
Admittedly, though, I do complain when traditional TV networks use a bug that isn't transparent enough...but I generally don't mind unless they double the size of it with advertising.

I watch a lot of rev3 shows and honestly did not know that is was there. I watch everything on my laptop (15.4" viewable) full screen. Now that i know its there it still does not bother me.

The watermark isn't too bad, but I hate it when they cover half the frickin screen with the credit roll/movie info.
Change please.

I really have no idea why any TV station uses a Logo on the screen. What I'm I a fucking retard I need someone to tell me what network I'm watching.
I remember the good old days when TV stations did not use logos. You know what I made TV even more fun to watch.

They do it because it's advertising, no matter how small.
Doesn't bother me one bit. Not like it's taking up the entire screen.

i think that this logo is better than say CBS logo, that one bothers me, and it's small. this one tho'... no, i'm ok with it.

I'm guessing so that someone else who doesn't know what channel you're watching can tell...possibly if they walk in the room, or more likely if they're watching it from a source other than the network.
Mind you, that's just speculation...

I don't really understand how this could even be an issue...The logo is colored and has a low opacity (about 75% I think) which they use to advertise the network...because maybe some people embed players on their own site or watch stuff through youtube or whatever...the logo is there so people know where it came from.
People who don't know what it is would see it on the video and look it up on Google and by doing so instantly see the network as the first entry.
So should it be changed? Absolutely not...I don't have a problem with it in any way, they are providing all these great shows for 100% free to us and want to put their logo on it...I for one welcome the logo, in fact if it was 100% opaque it still wouldn't bother me.

I have a bigger issue with what the NBC networks have been pulling the past year...increasing their logo area by adding ads for other shows during the entire show. They did that with the last 2 episodes of Eureka back in October, did it during Knight Rider and at least a few other shows.
Now, I understand the need for advertising, but I also see some things as being disrespectful of viewers...whose eyes you need to get the advertising dollars. Different people have different levels of that though. If nothing else, such things drive me to stop watching a show/network and cuts down on my TV time...which is a good thing.

Now that is something to get annoyed about...I hate when they do that...but it isn't just on one or a few of their shows...they do it on EVERY show...if it happened once an episode I could maybe deal with it but they do it at least once per segment and if it is an hour show that is like 4 half screen ads...It's like they can't wait for the freakin commercial breaks to throw some damn ads in your face.

well, apparently I don't watch much NBC lately...I used to be alright with it when it was for a few seconds when they came back from commercial, but then they started reversing it, with nothing for a bit after the commercial, and then the ad/id came up for the rest of the segment.
The problem is, most people I've talked to are fine with it...they 'just ignore it.' But it'll get progressively worse if there aren't many complaints. I think the movie Idiocracy was spot on about how TV will look in the future.
