I called gamestop on tuesday and asked if they would still take pre orders and the guy said no they are sold out. That was the only store around open at midnight.
I have to wait till sunday morning to get mine at Best Buy.

As a former Gamestop employee who did the Halo 3 and WOW BC behind the counter thing I will never do a midnight opening again and will never understand why people are that insane.

I will just go to Play N Trade the next day and pick up my reserved copy.

And people going to gamestop who don't have it reserved...they lie to you when they say they have no extras if you didn't have it reserved on big name releases..they always order tons of extra's they just want you to wait till after the reserved line is taken care of and will most likely offer you the strat guide on 10% (to bring the guide from 19$ to 17$ they always do this on games like this) discount if you shelled out the 15$ for that retarded card and biased mag.(some gamestores do that same card and for free)

My friend's pickign it up tonight and we're gonna play it together. I don't really care for online play, the best was playing Brawl with Live people...it was great. We only need one copy of the game to do that.

I'll get it eventually.

I got to hold it today cause' I work at Toys "R" Us. :D :D As I looked at the front and back I was like "Wow, I get to hold you when no one else can....." LOL. :D

I feel your pain. I have been trapped indoors with a 9 year old all day. I can't open my backdoor and if my vehicle was a car instead of a minivan it would be utterly buried. I planned two hours for tomorrow morning to shovel, unless of course some nice profit minded kids come along. Please let that happen...

I was thinking about doing the midnight launch, but then I thought back to when I worked at Gamestop all those years ago ".... wait a damn second it doesn't matter in the least when it's picked your reserve will be there in the morning." Well that frees up some time .... well if y'all will excuse me got some Jack Daniel's and some Team Fortress 2 to get into .. good evening :D

I stumbled into my local Gamecrazy earlier because I saw that Beatmania was 20 bucks and Taiko Drum Master was 10. They said they were having a tournament and I was like okay I'll give it a shot, and I tried playing SSBM even though I hadn't played it in years, I thought there were only like 6 kids I had a decent chance to win something. Not so, they're all assholes who have probably been playing it for the past few days, so I just got my games and left.

Well I have it and it's 12:30 am..I decided to actually do a midnight release..I was 4th in line and left like at 11 watched the tournement only like 30 people there so it was not bad.

Ok so i got my copy of brawl this morning when best buy opened. There was a crazy line (they had 33 wiis) but i went to the brawl pre order section and got mine.

I tried to play online but you need a friend code for this too. damn u nintendo.

I was really bad today. I picked up SSBB and Pro Soccer so I can play with a friend. But while I am there, I reserved the Wii Fit and Ghostbusters. I also put on hold a Pro Soccer 2008 and picked up some points for the x-box 360. Anakin had to practically drag me out of the Babbages. Granted he wanted to go get Pokemon cards, so he had another motive.

For those of you interested, if you pick it up at TRU, you can get Zak and Wiki for half off (which ends up being $15). There are other games, but this seems to be the best option. I'm tempted to do that, but Best Buy and Fry's Electronic is much closer.
For anyone who DOES NOT have Z&W yet I STRONGLY urger you to take advantage og this deal or even when the deal is up buy it for 30$ seriously stop ignoring this game despite it's title...it really is one of the most amazing games Wii has it's a AAA game selling like crap and anyone who owns the game already knows how great it is.

Ok so maybe that was the wrong way to express just how much I love this game. First off, there is NO better game than Smash Bros for local multiplayer. Four buddies, sitting on a couch, playing Super Smash just defines the offline multiplayer experience. Everything you've come to expect is there: the characters, the music, the frantic gameplay, the crazy stages, it's all there. The gameplay is extremely similar to melee, except I think there's more of a focus on timing your attacks. The new final smash addition is very fun because it changes the gameplay dramatically. One moment you're beating on each other, and as soon as a smash ball appears, it's a sudden rush to who can get it first. The only problem with this game is that you MUST use a gamecube controller. Yes, you can technically use the wii remote, the classic controller, or the wiimote + nunchuk, but all of them are inferior to the gamecube controller. I would even say that playing this game with anything OTHER than a gamecube controller is like playing with your feet. That's right, your feet.

If you are a Wii owner you MUST get this game.. It's the ultimate "harcore" party game, and it's damn good.

Besides a small amount of sleep, my friends and I haven't done anything but Brawl. Completely fulfilled my expectations and then some.

Also, WiiMote + NunChuk is the best combo by far. Why is everyone hating on it? Who uses the smash stick anyways?

As someone who usually plays on a gamecube control. when I played the game with the nunchuck and wiimote it was unplayable for me. but I've gotten used to it and it's cool how it can change yoru game. It's different and fun.

The game cube controller is much better. it allows for better rolling and jumping...dodging in mid air is hard to do on the nunchuck.

It's weird how they took out wave dashing.... that was always somethign I wanted to master.

I just unlocked Snake. Woot!
