I have a standard video cable going from the graphics card on a pc to a projector. I want to have all the cabling neat & tidy, so I want to cut the video cable, drill a small hole, pass the cable through the hole and then rejoin the cable.

Is this possible?

Will I lose much picture quality?

Thanks....

Yes. You will lose video quality. A better idea would be to go down to radio shack, buy the amount of cable you need, and the two connectors you need, and solder them back together AFTER running the cable through the hole.

I would drill a big hole to be able to pass the connector through, then, make a small cover plate, drill the smaller hole in it, cut it in half, and then put it around the cable and attach it to the larger piece to cover the bigger hole. Or you could get one of those plastic covers that desks use to manage cables.
