My home network is filled with multiple Windows and Linux machines, and I know I'm not unique. It would be nice to have an LDAP directory to cut down on user administration. Can Open LDAP handle Windows, Linux, and Mac and be easy to use?

There are a ton of turorials on the net. One place I like to frequent is www.howtoforge.com.

I'll check it out. But the problem I find is that there is an assumption that you know LDAP and programming in and out. Plus, most tutorials assume a Linux/Unix environment only. Most Open Sourcers don't want to acknowledge that MS OSes exist. Great for what they are doing, but not practical for the rest of us.
That is why I suggested this as a topic for the show. They do a great job of breaking down the tasks for everyone to follow without the religion.
Having said all that, I found the Mandriva Directory Server there and they seems to be what I'm looking for. Thanks!

I would also be interested in seeing a Systm episode about this.
I manage several Active Directory's every damn day and I would love to see how Linux handles it.
