I have been looking for an HD tuner card that has a 5.1 input (or digital in optical socket). I have searched for HD tuner cards but haven't found one with an optical input socket yet.

I read about a hauppage hd tuner card at CES 08 that uses component video input with 5.1 input but i cant seem to find it on the hauppage website.

anyone with info on the model or any experience with an HD tuner with 5.1 input please reply.

thanks

update:
I'm looking to use the HD tuner to capture the recordings on my directv DVR (which get deleted when the disk space is low). I also want to capture the 5.1 audio.

If possible hoping to capture blu ray movies too.

update:
i found an article of a $250 hauppage HD recorder that will record from any satellite/cable STB or Blu-ray player. It is a usb device that connects to your PC. It has component video inputs and optical inputs for audio. It records the source vid to h.264 format and comes with software that will burn the converted vid onto a single layer DVD. 2 hours of a Blu-ray movie can fit on one 4.7GB DVD

it may be released this quarter. no model number or pics of the recorder.
