I think this might have been discussed before but Garnett Lee is a great co-host.

I didn't know his mom came on the forums :D
Seriously, I must agree. I enjoy Garnett on the show.

Agreed, definitely keep him around. Hell, bring Leo in once in a while as a third party....and let the hilarity ensue. :D

I am really liking Garnett as co host as we have a tech guy on one side with Pat and a Gamer on the other the best of both worlds to give insight to the show and they work well and good chemistry Keep Lee as co host.

21 I think.
I am not for him because he is an actor and while yes he had great stage presence as a very likeable guy that is what host actors do but as far as true gaming/tech knowledge that is a no go and people whined JC played the know nothing role..well Jeff would be doing the same thing just he is better at presenting himself.
I still rather have a guy (or girl) there that truly know tech and/or Gaming and can be sent on assignment at times and knows what they are talking about or in studio offering help along side Pat.
So while Garnett may not be as enthusiastic and stage presence as Jeff Garnett still does a good job of it and can give some insiders news or help with gamer questions while Pat does the tech side.
Same goes other way around.
As much asI like Pat I would not want him on TRS or Diggnation. :p

I have to say the Garnett Lee & Pat combo is becoming unwatchable for me. In fact for the first time in watching revision3 shows, I started to fast forwarding just to make it to the end. I don't have the willpower to stop watching it all together, yet, but a few more episodes with these two (not nice adjective)'s and its getting pulled from my RSS reader (for whatever that's worth).
I want some hard core tech content, with hosts that are above and beyond the average geek, people that know what they are talking about, can speak to it with authority, and can go an episode without having to correct everything they glossed over or misrepresented in previous episodes.
The Tekzilla content we have now is light and fluffy, just skin-deep discussion of topics, and I believe that all stems from the lack of expertise from the hosts. If the hosts don't know a topic front to back, side to side, and from every angel, then we are going to get more of the same bland summaries of stuff I already know.
Let me offer a positive example: Garnett Lee actually impressed me with the speaker episode, he demonstrated to me that he knew what he was talking about, and was able to pull from experience on the subject. For instance, he stated his dislike for Bose, specifically the over the top bass, which I can confirm after listing to my dads new Wave radio. Also he had a little dialog about different speaker designs, and his opinion of the subject. These are things that you just don't get from reading a Wikipedia article the day before airing. It turns a review from "These sound good, these sound better, I like this cool LED light on this one", to "This model has very good x,y and z, while this model has exceptional q for this price range, and as expected, manufacture w has raised the bar in yatta-yatta performance".
More insight, more experts, and more depth. If you don't know what your talking about, zip-it. I'm not interested in hearing Patrick and Garnett fumble around for 40 minutes on subjects they know nothing (or little) about.
I know I'm being overly harsh, but I'm just addressing my concerns with a bold stroke. I admit Patrick is no idiot, he knows enough for the majority of the audience to learn something from, (most of the time). But even when talking about subjects on such a high level, I am missing the resolution, the clarity, the "I know what I'm talking about" feeling. And to make a long post longer (is anyone still reading this?), I will provide another positive example to this point: On the rare occasions when you guys bring Brendan White on the show, when he talks, its the summary of everything I am trying to say. This guy knows what he is talking about, and even though hes talking about subjects on a high level, you just know he can go 50 levels deep into anything he just said, and can speak volumes about that particular item. His dialect is like if a master chef were to take the finest and purest ingredients available, cook them with perfection in a large pot, and ladle out one serving of epic in a bowl; opposed to popping the lid on a can of chef mundane, adding water, and cooking at high for 3 minutes. Its still soup, but its all about the quality! Ok I'm just babbling on at this point, but I think I got what I wanted out into the public space.

Garnett is great, I like when he co hosts. Rodger was also good in ep. 24.

I have to agree with you, unfortunately!
Tekzilla isn't as techsavy as it used to be. More or less geek friendly.
Although, we are all geeks. We know how to install ubuntu. We've all experienced bad partitioning, thumbnail views on xp, Time machine on leopard. Why do I say that? Well, the knowing crowd will always complain about things being too easy, while the average joe will email in the simplest question.
I recently sent in an email asking what would happen to my computer if I installed a nvidia card. Just to test the thing. I have no need of knowing that, since I also work as a UNIX mastah in my old school. I constantly upgrade computers both graphics and other things.
They didn't answer. It was a perfectly reasonable question.
Many have asked me that, and a lot of people are probably wanting to upgrade their computers, but in fear, stepping away from a brand just because they don't know.
(That may come out as whine because they didn't answer my question. But c'mon)
Look at what happened to DL.TV. Patrick left, show got worse, Roger left - show started to suck ass. Overwhelming with ads.
I'm afraid that this is going to happen to Tekzilla.
Yes, it's a 40minute show. Yes you fill it, but the same info can be told in 30minutes.
P.s, as a die hard fan of Patrick Norton, a die hard fan of REV3, I'm starting to lose credibility towards your company.
Backing up with the Drobo. Yes, you have to sell ads in order to make money. But if you only talk about one hard ware solution, in particularly Drobo-NAS solution, you lost me there.
GoDaddy. Yeah, they pay a heck of a lot of money to get their ads placed, but saying "99.9% uptime" when in fact it is "99.9% uptime, IF NOBODY QUESTIONS THE CONTENT OF YOUR SITE".
Are the ads worth more to you, or are your viewers worth more?
You built that company with ease, you can also take it down easier by being greedy.

I've always been a Leo fan. That would be neat. But, Jeff would make Tekzilla super hop! I think that would be an awesome combo, "that being said" I think he doesn't live in the same place as Patrick. Lee was cool for a while, but I'm starting to like his re-appearing over and over, I don't know why.

Tekzilla was never meant as a hardcore tech show.
Maybe a hardcore tech show is something Rev3 should consider... maybe bring back thebroken as a fan for hardcore tech fans who know all the basics already, who know all the lingo, etc...

Yeah, I agree... they should bring Leo on for a few episodes. Especially since his TV show (The Lab with Leo) got canceled.

I have been reading Garnett's reviews for years and feel like I know where he is coming from with his opinions. I do like Jeff and avidly watch TRS but Garnett seems to have a really good grasp on what he is talking about from a game perspective and tech perspective. That being said, when Jeff was on 1UP yours he could still talk on the calibar of their editors about gaming but I haven't heard enough of his tech talk. If I had to choose what to do concerning a co host I would have Garnett Lee on as a co host on Tekzilla and give Jeff his own show about gaming or leave him on TRS.

I like the idea of having Garnett Lee around but then where are his loyalties? Doesn't he also Co-host DL.TV which is owned by ZD (ZDTV)? He gets around more than a certain New York Governor.

The whole tech podcast group in the bay area is a bit incestuous (not saying it's a bad thing). Garrett doesn't stand out any more than others. Not to mention, ZD isn't doing so well these days. It's not such a bad thing for him to be friendly with other 'competitors'.

Even from his first segments I've been a fan of Garnett Lee. Than Jeff Cannata came along and now I'm conflicted.
However, since Jeff is not going to be able to be in studio and Garnett seems to be pretty close by. I would approve for him being a permanent co-host.
I wonder if we should have elections now :p

Well my first pick for co-host is Barack Obama. I realize that the likelihood of that isn't large, so I'm gonna go Garnet Lee ftw. I think people just want Jeff because they see how nice of a guy he is on TRS. Garnett has been more impressive on tekzilla though.

Oh man, Hes right up there with Jeff Canata I would love to see him as a full time co-host since with Jeff in LA its probably not all that feasable to get him to co-host on a regular basis.
