Need help from the Dromies to solve a geek dilemma

I know that Saturday the 18th is the day of the Geekdrome BBQ, but it is also the Eve of the Nintendo Wii launch. My roomates are going to go to the official Wii launch party at Universal Citywalk. I want to be able to go to the BBQ but still be able to go to the Wii launch with my roomates. They will probably be leaving sometime in mid to late afternoon/evening to get a good spot in line and to enjoy all the fun. I don't want to miss getting to go to the launch because I was at the BBQ. The BBQ is something I have been looking forward to ever since I first heard about it. Dromies, what are your thoughts concerning this matter? I want to hear what you have to say.

I have a similar dilemma... I have a show later that evening (8pm in Santa Paula) So I'm hoping the picnic starts early enough that I can come for a few hours before I have to get to the theatre

my problem is i have a regina spektor concert that friday. that saturday i will be at a party for one of my friends that is moving back here from texas. plus the launch of the Wii. oh and i live on the FRACCIN east coast.
