Aria and I got a chance to chat with Woz as well. I am going to upload pictures of her and I with him right now and then I will post some links to them.

EDIT: Here is Woz and I. (http://lh4.google.com/cody.clements/RVC3U6pEABI/AAAAAAAAASA/JKD-aiUZTe4/DSC03130.JPG?imgmax=800) And yes, I am wearing my Diggnation shirt.

Damn you, Cody, leave my pic off because I look horrid in it! :D

Kow, we got to touch the Woz! LOL

Woz is SHORT! It was so funny listening to the talks about being grounded for working on their projects too late. Parents unknowingly standing in the way of a revolution!

I was sitting at the airport waiting for my flight to Toronto last week, and from the next counter over I heard them page <mumble mumble> Wozniac for the flight to Chicago. Given where I live, it isn't a stretch that he would be in the area.

So ... I sit there ... staring at the ticket counter ... and this talk lanky guy strolls up to the counter and say he is Adam Wozniac.

I guess there was a Woz, just wasn't the right one :(

I needed to get Opera to mask as IE to open them. Not even masking as Firefox worked. Google going anti everything except MS?

Isn't my city gorgeous?

Funny how some of you think that meeting a tech celeb is a great thing. For some of us, we practically rub elbows with these people all the time! :D

I used to visit Vegas on an annual basis. Now, I think I'm going to be visiting the Bay Area on a monthly basis, if things keep going the way they are now ;)

I'm generally not affected by celebrity, but Woz holds a special position in my pantheon of admired peoples. I should point out, I do not own a mac, nor have I used an Apple since probably 1995. But Woz has always captured my imagination and inspired me to try to do great things.

Growing up, we never had a computer in my house. Too expensive. But when I was in third grade, my older brother was in the school computer club. Now, the computer club was only for 6th graders and up, but my brother had to take me home from school, so I had to stay with him.

To keep me out of the way, they put me on an old Apple IIe in the corner while the older kids used newer PCs and Macs and whatnot.

Well, I could only play so much Oregon Trail or number munchers before growing bored with that old thing. But right next to it was a book called "A Touch of Applesoft BASIC" as well as a bunch of other manuals, which I began to read. Over the course of that school year I taught myself BASIC using that introduction manual and learned about how a microcomputer works with the schematics and manuals beside that old Apple II. Now today I get paid to code. Something that wouldn't have been possible without Woz, the engineer. Who needs Jobs, the sociopathic/megalomaniacal cult icon? ;)

You know where to send that fine!

SF is still my city. *grins* And one day, one wonderful day, I will own the Pointy Building! (The TransAmerica Pyramid, a giant pointy building with ears for those who don't know me well enough to know what I mean!)

You think that one's bad? Check out this one (http://www.flickr.com/photos/kowgod/293244591/)!

I got the impression a lot of people find him to be a pest. I don't feel bad for Captain Crunch. He is still a fascinating guy, in my book.

(PS, I actually have nearly a thousand pics from the trip. My flickr stream is just a subset of a subset of the good ones)

Envy me. I'm in the city once or twice pr week these days. I'm dating this guy who lives in SF. Next time you come out, ring me up.

Woz and I have a friend in common (someone he co-founded another company with) who said that Woz was faking being sick for sympathy or something like that. Either way, I am going to finagle my way into another meeting with Woz.

We had an IBM in late 1985. It wasn't until I was in jr. high that I realized computers weren't a part of daily home life for most people growing up. IBM at home, Apple at school. When my grandpa got a computer with color, versus the blaring neon green against black, we were thrilled and loved to play this bowling game. I think I was about 11 when I participated in my first chatroom. So that would have been 1992? Thrilling. Geez, for feeling new to tech, I actually grew up with it.

So why do you think everyone knows who Jobs is, but only techies seem to know of the Woz?

So why do you think everyone knows who Jobs is, but only techies seem to know of the Woz?Because the engineers get no love :( ... they only get noticed when something ISN'T working.
