I just screwed up cooking a batch of Rice-A-Roni.
It *should* be light, fluffy, and moist like a risotto, but instead of cooking on low, I had the temp up just a fraction too high - and the stuff came out crunchy.

I screwed up hamburger helper once. I left the stove on my mistake and simmered it for an hour and half.

Frustrating thing is I make a great risotto (that be a good CAC episode), and have never screwed it up, but didn't have 30 minutes to kill adding stock to a pot of rice ladle by ladle. I just wanted something fast.
I guess the lesson is that is you want quality, there are no short cuts in life.

I screwed up Kraft Mac and Cheese. Well...actually...after a few drinks decided to use beer instead of water. Who knew it could smell that bad...

I screwed up chocolate chip cookies once. The instructions said I had to add in the eggs while I was beating the dough to make it softer; instead, I put in all the eggs before beating.
I also misread the ingredients for a few cakes. The tsp/tbsp thing is easy to confuse, and I sometimes stupidly put in too much oil/water. (It's 1/3 cup, not 1/2. NOOOOOOOOO!)

I've burned toast but the worst I've ever had was when my youngest brother wanted to make Kraft Macaroni & Cheese. I was in the kitchen with him, just in case the house the caught fire, but was reading a magazine (he was like 10, isn't that old enough to cook on your own) we chatted as he cooked and I looked at the pictures (IT was Maxum, OKAY) and when he was done, I said what I always say, " Did you add Garlic? "
I love Garlic, and have passed the belief unto my Brothers, He responded with "Of Course! But we didn't have any garlic powder, so I used the fresh Garlic."
"Kewl" I responded as I shoved a forkfull into my mouth. OMG! He added 3 crushed CLOVES of Garlic, it was just a tad too much, like a Hurrican is a tad to windy.

I was stupid and messed up on top ramen. I put boiling water in the cup then microwaved it. Then accidently spilled that microwaved boiling water onto my hand. Probably the worst pain I have ever felt.

Burning your hand with hot water sucks.....
But i think the only times i screw up cooking is just when i forget about it...

I don't have any major screw-ups, though my old roommate managed to scorch chili in a crock pot so bad that it was never completely cleaned out.

That's actually not so hard to do if you turn the heat to high. I cook chili in a dutch oven.
