I think Dan needs to go take some speaking lessons because he has a very tough time articulating anything. Half the time I get so lost in what he's saying that I come out dumber for having heard it.
Here is a direct quote from Dan on the movie Babel from this past week's episode:
"And that is, yeah, I me-, thats a, i think this is a beautiful movie, and given what you just said makes it all the more powerful, and and, gorgeous, to me. Let me just say a few things too, befo-, and then yeah. But, it would, you would feel so frustrated, and it would leave them, and then enter the other story where you're like *sigh* I'm a little bit relieved, and then that would get super ****in' oh my god, and then it would leave that, it was just like holy, shit."

Now that's a DVD box quote if I've ever heard one.

People tend to talk rather incoherently, in my experience. It is much easier to sound smart when you're writing, or reading from a script, but people seldom talk like they do on TV.
I wish we did, because I am even worse than Dan at expressing myself. I usually just get embarassed and trail off mid sentence ...

In Dan's defense, I understand what he says, and he makes good points sometimes, just not as 'eloquently' as others. He talks about a movie like a friend would, which is why I love it.
I don't know, maybe it's because all my friends aren't professional movie critics and writers. Or just the fact that I don't take human speech word-for-word literally so that I end up not understanding anything. You wouldn't write Dan's reviews down on paper, but anyone should be able to listen to them and get his thoughts out of it. If not, they're anal-retentive magazine editors or the like.

1. This guy is just expressing his opinions, and...hahahaha
2. I went as PETER PARKER AND I LOOKED AWESOME!
3. People tend to talk over each other and want to interrupt, especially when you have shit to say that's geeky. Try talking to a fellow geek and not having them finish your sentences. JLo finishes hella sentences, etc., So I think the transcription is out of context.
4. I've never once had a problem understanding DannyT. The way he makes up slang and puts in a bunch of random abbreviations and says "and shit" all the time...this is basically what talking to ME is like. So Keep it strong DannyT.

I think in the situations when his speech is somewhat fragmented it's because he's really excited or passionate about a certain movie. To me, his enthusiasm is part of his review. If DannyT is excited about a movie, than I'm probably going to see it.

I completely understand DannyT. You just have to tune out half of all things being said. I use that technique on a lot of people for a lot of different reasons. I totally get his enthusiasm for films, and I can see why that might translate to speechlessness/crazy talk.
